Job Description
Required Skills/Experience:
- Electrical Engineering Degree from accredited university
- Ability to apply math, science, and other engineering knowledge to solve real world problems and develop robust technical solutions
- Experience in programming automation controls
- Display excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Manage time effectively by understanding assignment requirements, prioritizing objectives, and scheduling tasks accordingly
- Ability to learn and grow personal knowledge and capabilities to deliver expected results
- Ability to meet fast paced deadlines while maintaining quality designs
- Willingness and aptitude to learn/support GE, Siemens and Allen Bradley PLCs, HMIs, and drive systems
- Ability to collaborate with multiple functional groups including: HSE, Mechanical Engineering, Process Engineering, Operations, and Maintenance teams
- Demonstrate a positive and mature attitude
Responsibilities:
- Create robust and reliable electrical system designs in support of manufacturing processes
- Programming and troubleshooting PLC, HMI & drives logic (GE, SIEMENS, Allen-Bradley, etc.)
- Programming data acquisition systems (SIEMENS & General Electric)
- Select, install, and set up instrumentation equipment
- Develop and document designs
- Influence project direction based on analysis and understanding of project facts
- Implement new electrical technology, techniques, and concepts to enable functionality, simplify designs, improve reliability, and reduce overall manufacturing costs
- Troubleshoot electrical system failures and implement resolutions to prevent recurrence
- Present designs, projects, etc. to the Engineering, Operations, and the Management teams
- Train and support maintenance Technicians
- Participate as an active member of the Columbus Electrical Safety Team
