Summary

We are looking for a Senior Engineer to join the IT Hosting Team. This role will be the lead engineer within the Infrastructure team to help deliver the £multi-million investments the Trust continues to make in technology. Working extensively within Microsoft Azure and on-premise Infrastructure, to deliver new services to the Trust, as well as maintaining the highest level of service for existing services. The role will involve the continued migration of critical services from on-prem to Azure and from IaaS towards PaaS and SaaS solutions.

Salary: £40,564 - £43,153 dependent on experience.

Your contractual location will be Heelis, however there will be an opportunity to explore and agree remote working arrangements which strike the right balance for you and the Trust. The role may also involve some travel to properties or regional hubs to meet with stakeholders and to carry out work.

What you'll be doing

A technical role model and a valued voice across the Trust, people will look to you for technical expertise and help with the implementation of innovative solutions. You will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operational support and service delivery of a Portfolio of IT Systems including Microsoft Azure, Windows Server technology, AWS and Hyper-V. You will provide IT technical and operational support on several key systems within the Trust. You will be responsible for the Development of your Team Members, inspiring them to enhance their knowledge and skills. Provide expert guidance and knowledge on new and existing technologies. You'll be a subject matter expert in Microsoft Azure IaaS & PaaS solutions. You will have a cloud first attitude and will be a voice of standards and excellence within public cloud environments.

Who we're looking for

  • Excellent knowledge of Cloud technologies and Infrastructure Support including Microsoft Azure and AWS
  • Practical experience working with Azure Data Factories, Function Apps and other PaaS technologies
  • Relevant Azure or AWS certifications
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal. Must be able to manage internal IT, business and supplier stakeholders
  • Proven ITIL background and training to a minimum of v3 Foundation level
  • The ability to support complex environments with multiple parties providing services
  • Commitment to self-development and be enthusiastic about acquiring new skills and embracing new technologies.
  • Previous experience of 3rd Line support in an Infrastructure support team
  • Experience in working with third parties in definition and implementation of standards and processes
