Simpler, smarter, better. Our IT operation is undergoing a £multi-million digital transformation journey. It’s a whole new chapter for our technology operations, cyber security and infrastructure teams and we’re looking for an experienced IT Operations Director to help shape our vision, lead, motivate and inspire our teams.
Salary: Circa £87,000
Your contractual location will be our head office in Swindon, however there will be an opportunity to explore and agree remote working arrangements which strike the right balance for you and the Trust. The role will involve travel to our head office to meet with stakeholders and your teams.

The Trust is continuing to invest in technology in order to deliver ambition strategic goals. Our IT department delivers operation support and several sizable business driven programmes at any one time, as well as supporting a large operational national user base of 12,000 staff, 60,000 volunteers and 5.5 million members.
In this role you will directly lead a team of 3 heads of department and have overall leadership for approximately 100 IT professionals, including technology delivery portfolios, operations, and strategic planning teams. Your ability to communicate well, adapt your communication style and easily build relationships, will be key to creating strong networks both internally and externally, with stakeholders at every level.
We’re looking for someone who has a strong focus on user centricity, cyber resilience and service offer. You’ll be experienced in promoting service feedback, responding to user needs, keeping close to market trends and aligning your strategy with the Trusts technology roadmap.
You will lead in handling technical and cyber security incidents, you’ll be comfortable working under pressure and in a complex, demanding environment, managing threats to our systems. Our IT systems are in operation 24/7 so it’s imperative that you are comfortable managing time critical incidents efficiently and effectively to reduce the impact on our service users. On occasion this will include responding to incidents outside of usual business hours, working with internal teams and partners to deliver an effective response.
