YourRole & Key Responsibilities

As the Strategy, Governance and Architecture Lead, you will be responsible for setting the strategy on the technology landscape required to support the business in conjunction with the CIO. This will initially include selecting the technology stack that will be provided for the business and working with the CIO and IT peers to engage the necessary vendors. The role will be responsible for on-going governance around the technology to ensure the company keeps to the agreed technology providers and manages new requests/demand that will result from the business. In addition, the role is responsible for identifying future technology options that may advance the business and in conjunction with the CIO and the business develop an IT strategy and roadmap. 

Your Key Responsibilitiesand Tasks

  • Support the CIO in agreeing the application stack with the business for the end state IT Landscape in line with growing the business and managing IT costs at 1.0% of turnover.

  • Support the Vendor/s selection process to both implement and manage the applications in steady state.

  • Align with the Vendor/Business/IT Infrastructure Team the service levels required to support the application stack.

  • Recruit and develop the team to ensure appropriate SME coverage and interface with core business functions.

  • Annual downtime calendar to be produced in alignment with IT and business to both ensure uptime of applications as well as on-going business continuity.

  • Working with the CIO/IT Leadership to support the implementation of the technology via the relevant vendor/s including selection, scope of service provision and on-going reviews.

  • Setting up and managing a governance framework to ensure the technology scope of the business is maintained, assessing future technology that could benefit the business, responding to new business demand from the markets and how this would fit into the technology landscape.

  • Identifies and evaluates alternative architectures and the trade-offs in cost, performance, and scalability. 

  • Supports monitoring of the external environment and assessment of emerging technologies to evaluate the potential impacts, threats, and opportunities to the organization.

  • Develop a rolling roadmap representing the technology landscape and how it will develop over this time and align the plan to future business priorities.

  • Understand organization's business processes, systems, tools, regulations, and structure and how they interrelate to provide products and services that create value for customers and consumers.

  • Oversee the design process for application software as well as continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Sets direction for database designers and other application development providers on the details of data structures and associated components relevant to the business.

  • Produce documents relating to application architecture, design steps, integration processes and testing procedures relating to each product developed.

  • Oversee the provision of technical support and training to the markets and actively maintain knowledge within specialist fields.

Requirements:

  • Degree in business administration or a technology-related field, or equivalent work- or education-related experience.

  • Experience in a role of leading an architecture team with proven track record of delivery 

  • Clear experience of managing large scale IT Transformation.

  • Articulate and good communicator with the ability to communicate technical issues in aneasy to understandway.

  • Strong knowledge of architecture methodologies, principles, and frameworks.

  • Practical experience translating business strategy into technology roadmaps.

  • Strong understanding of the external technology market.

  • Results oriented with the ability to maintain focus on objectives in a multi-task demanding environment.

  • Good problem solving and communication skills.

  • Ability to work independently and as a part of the team.

  • Clear experience of managing IT Transformation.

  • Proven track record of leading and developing IT teams.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, interpersonal and collaborative skills, and the ability to communicate security and risk-related concepts to technical and nontechnical audiences.

  • Proven track record and experience in leading an architecture team, as well as successfully executing programs that meet the objectives of excellence in a dynamic environment.

  • Ability to lead and motivate cross-functional, interdisciplinary teams to achieve tactical and strategic goals.

  • A degree in business administration or a technology-related field would be an advantage, or equivalent work- or education-related experience.

  • Experience in managing vendors essential to drive efficiencies in service/cost.

  • Strong knowledge of architecture methodologies, principles, and frameworks.

  • Practical experience translating business strategy into technology roadmaps.

  • Strong understanding of the external technology market.

  • Results oriented with the ability to maintain focus on objectives in a multi-task demanding environment.

  • Good problem solving and communication skills.
