Responsibilities

Risk Management is seeking an innovative and results oriented Application Development Manager. This area is focused on the development of products and services for various stakeholders throughout the Claims Management lifecycle. Enterprise continuously strives to modernize our applications in an effort to keep pace with the competitive market, and Risk Management has upcoming projects to modernize applications. This is an exciting time to be part of Risk Management leadership team.

As an IT Manager in Risk Management, you will lead an cross-functional application development team in pursuit of delivering on our department's commitments to our organizations’ strategic and tactical initiatives. These include business driven initiative and technology modernization with Cloud Migration and API strategy. In this role you will be required to build strong relationships across the organization with other IT leaders and teams; managing the execution of operational and tactical activities on a day-to-day basis. You will be responsible for determining time and resources needed to complete assignments and lead team members in prioritizing and completing assigned tasks and projects, as well as identifying and resolving roadblocks, determining timelines, raising risks and identifying solutions. As a Manager, you will be responsible for people management activities including career planning/support, training, interviewing, hiring, rewarding, disciplining, and performance and salary reviews. You will develop and maintain procedures that support team activities associated with specific area of expertise or responsibility, and lead individuals in adhering to and supporting team procedures.

Qualifications

Required:

Must be presently authorized to work in the U.S. without a requirement for work authorization sponsorship by our company for this position now or in the future

The IT Manager position requires 6 of related IT experience

Prior experience managing application development teams

Proven ability to motivate and direct teams to accomplish goals

Prior experience defining and managing IT projects, proficient knowledge of project management concepts

Experience in Agile methodology using JIRA and Confluence

Must have strong leadership qualities, with the ability to establish and maintain solid working relationships with subordinates, peers, management and teams/departments within the IT organization

Must have excellent problem solving and analytical skills, with the ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions

Must be able to work independently with a sense of urgency to accomplish department / project tasks

Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, including good listening skills

Must demonstrate the ability to achieve results through others

Must be committed to incorporating security into all decisions and daily job responsibilities

Preferred:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Management Information Systems, or related field preferred

Experience with creating and maintaining solution roadmaps

Strong knowledge of the software development life cycle processese.g.Lean/Agile methodologies

Experience with any of the following:

Knowledge of API and service-oriented architecture (SOA)

Experience with cloud-based applications and/or cloud transformations

Experience working in AWS environment
