What you’ll be doing:
- Responsible for supporting, maintaining, and upgrading the GL Hearn IT estate including: Endpoints (laptops, desktops), Mobile Devices (mobiles, tablets), Telephony (on-premise and cloud), Infrastructure, Networks.
- Responsible for the day-to-day maintenance and support for the GL Hearn IT applications portfolio including deployments, installations, upgrades, and configuration.
- Responsible for delivering day to day IT support to all users and addressing any ongoing or reoccurring issues impacting the service.
- Liaison with internal and external third-party suppliers for resolution of incidents and maintenance work.
- Ensuring the security and privacy of GL Hearn applications, networks and computer systems is maintained.
- Following Group Information Security best practice.
- Responsible for following GL Hearn IT working practices, including proactive IT support to end users to ensure that a high quality, professional IT service is provided to the whole firm.
- Encourage users to adopt good IT practice and ensure correct and appropriate use of business applications and IT equipment.
- Supporting the business continuity and disaster recovery solution and testing regime.
- Responsible for the ensuring that the IT Asset Register is up to date and reviewed regularly.
- Responsible for the maintenance of up to date documentation of all relevant IT and AV systems and hardware, including maintenance contracts and warranties.
- Testing equipment and supporting internal and external events where IT support is required.
- Escalating challenges to the Senior IT Engineer and/or IT Service Manager or third party as applicable.
- Act as an IT ambassador representing the function to the wider business and providing business partner services to help solve challenges and offer support.
- Attending site across the GL Hearn office estate to provide support and carrying out scheduled checks of equipment.
What we’re looking for:
- Experience in an IT support role.
- Evidence of supporting a varied range of IT hardware, systems, and applications.
- Experience of supporting the delivery of IT projects.
- Excellent diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
- Good interpersonal skills and ability to explain complex issues in simple terms.
- Ability to remain calm under pressure and remaining focused on solving problemsGraduate calibre, with a degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems desirable.
- Experience across IT support, networks, infrastructure, application and cyber.
- Technical knowledge and understanding of Microsoft technologies including Azure Cloud and Office 365.
- Experience of working in a multi-site environment is desirable.
- IT related certifications / accreditations such as ITIL / Microsoft / Cisco / HP is desirable
- Experience of working in a professional services environment – particularly property or real estate – is desirable.
