The IT Director - Business Alignment Leader for Brunswick Business Acceleration – Freedom Boat Club combines expertise with IT systems and business acumen to identify and deliver solutions that drive improved stakeholder experiences (e.g., Customer, Partner, Staff) as well as overall operational effectiveness. The IT Business Alignment Leader will be a trusted technology advisor to the Business Acceleration* - Freedom Boat Club team.
The role focuses on business processes and is functionally proficient with respective technology. They will collaborate with business and IT leadership across respective teams to identify, scope and oversee the execution of expanded capabilities. The IT Business Alignment Leader will also manage information critical to stakeholder needs including reviewing and approving enhancements, projects, and solutions for key customer engagement experiences and will be the focal point for all technical-related activities (including project oversight, consultation and vendor coordination).
This position requires the ability to understand Business Acceleration – Freedom Boat Club business processes, short/long term strategic outcomes, and data that support adjacent functional areas. They act as a change agent to help facilitate effective deployments/modifications to the current systems portfolio as well partner to scope the art of the possible. The role will work across the Business Acceleration – Freedom Boat Club team as well as with other stakeholders, in some cases traveling to assist/advise on strategic direction. In addition, the role will be asked to provide thought leadership in partnership with enterprise stakeholders to influence and shape overall Brunswick business and IT Strategy.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Acts as the bridge between the functional/business teams, technical teams and support teams – Including day-to-day escalations, general guidance to Business Acceleration – Freedom Boat Club leaders on the “art of the possibleâ€, and partnering with technology and digital delivery resources to fully realize benefits of target architecture and platforms
- Partner with the Business Leaders and other key stakeholders to create and process IT initiative proposals or business cases, collaborating with business stakeholders, portfolio management, and Digital Delivery colleagues to define scope, ROI, risks & mitigations, major components of work, staffing requirements, and financial needs
- Serve as internal voice of the customer as needed by articulating business and customer needs; validate functional and non-functional requirements are met by any proposed solutions as well as confirming alignment to technology roadmaps.
- Align strategic and tactical business objectives for Business Acceleration – Freedom Boat Club with corresponding IT objectives and long-term roadmaps
- Prioritize stories, epics and themes to ensure work focuses on those with maximum value and are aligned with product strategy. Work in partnership with Enterprise Architecture and Digital Delivery to incorporate feature requests into product roadmap
- When necessary, project Lead/Manage initiatives that require full lifecycle execution from ideation to solution execution
- Provide insights and thought leadership on industry/functional trends and best practices to guide business priorities, customer and employee experience advancements, and technology decisions
- Elicit functional requirements by conducting interviews, requirements workshops, drawing “day in the life of†observations and by reviewing current workflows and system documentation
- Critically evaluates the information gathered to ensure it meets the needs of the business area as well as IT goals
- Drives and challenges the business area on their current processes and assumptions to define the best solutions for the business and customer
- Works to ensure that requirements, process flows, test scenarios, support documentation, and user training represent the full functionality of the of the business systems
- Leverages relationships to influence and maintain a target and a horizon-based view of capability maturity across people, process, and technology
- Travel: 10-15%
Basic Qualifications:
- Four-year Bachelor’s degree in Business, Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering or a related discipline. An advanced degree is preferred.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience facilitating the development and implementation of business initiatives and projects based on organization objectives.
- Demonstrated track record of creating technology solutions to solve business problems (globally, or across multiple divisions or regions within a single company)
- Comfortable juggling multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
- Able to constantly adapt and thrive in a fast-paced work environment.
- Agile thinker possessing creativity, curiosity, problem solving and critical thinking skills.
- Independent thinker who is persistent, resourceful, and resilient.

Preferred Qualifications: (depends on area)
- Experience in both marketing and sales areas with demonstrated examples digital transformation
- Salesforce Certifications/Badges
- Experience in Digitalization of Marketing including the deployment of AEM to websites
- Experience working with third parties to enhance/enable delivery for the business
- Knowledge of B2B portals and the transformation for improved consumer/user experiences
- Experience with ServiceNow, DevOps, and/or JIRA
- Succinct verbal and written business communication in non-IT lingo
