Job Description
As a DevOps engineer senior or lead on the Application Performance Management team within the Shared Services organization, you'll support applications currently set up in the production monitoring environments and guide service teams to incorporate their applications into the environment. As an Agile delivery team member, you’ll provide our customers with the near real time observability needed to rapidly respond to events, while advancing Progressive’s monitoring capabilities. You’ll also assist in evaluating, designing, and implementing software products to support our customer requirements, as well as perform research and development efforts pertaining to new features and capabilities.
Must-have qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree or higher in an Information Technology discipline or related field of study (e.g., computer science, software engineering, telecommunication, math) and minimum of four years working with operating system hardware and/or software components in designing and scripting infrastructure solutions
- Instead of degree, minimum of six years related experience mentioned in above bullet point is acceptable
Preferred Skills
- Experience with application performance monitoring tools, preferably AppDynamics. Knowledge of Splunk, tools in the Splunk Observability Suite, and the Open Telemetry open source observability framework are nice to have
- Working knowledge of Cloud Solutions and experience with Docker, OpenShift and Kubernetes
- Experience with both Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) and development using Python
- Exposure to CI/CD tool chains, such as Azure and GitHub
- Scripting and general software development knowledge
Compensation
- $90,948-$117,504/year depending on the position level and experience
- Gainshare bonus up to 30% of your eligible earnings based on company performance
