Project Overview
The Pueblo Chemical Agent-Destruction Pilot Plant (PCAPP) will safely destroy 2,611 tons of mustard agent in mortar rounds and artillery projectiles stored at the US. Army Pueblo Chemical Depot (PCD) approximately 25 miles from Pueblo, Colorado. Neutralization followed by biotreatment is the technology selected by the Department of Defense to destroy the Pueblo chemical weapons stockpile. The PCAPP plant began the operations and munition destruction phase as of September 2016.
Candidates for unescorted access to the Chemical Limited Area must successfully clear National Agency Check with Local Check (NACLC). All employees are subject and agree to random drug and alcohol testing as a condition of employment. Must be physically fit and able to work safely at an operating plant. Eligible applicants must be a US Citizen and successfully go through a government screening process. Based on project goals and objectives, candidates established within our local community are desirable.
Position Summary
The Pueblo Chemical Agent-Destruction Pilot Plant (PCAPP) is looking for an experienced IS&T professional with a diverse systems background to train and fill the role of a Senior Control Systems Engineer (CSE) at the Pueblo, CO location. This IS&T position will matrix and report to the Engineering Automation Supervisor at the PCAPP project.
CSE reviews and coordinates documents with suppliers, other disciplines, and customers. Coordinates technical issues with Plant Operations and Engineering. Proficient with basic engineering deliverables such as drawings, specifications, and Distributed Control System (DCS) – a MS Active Directory/Cisco LAN architecture – and ability to extend this to Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) configurations. Proficient with system configurations for multiple platforms and the development of operational strategies. Proficient with process algorithm development and possesses a solid working understanding of database management systems. Able to properly interpret and apply codes & standards and customer design requirements in the preparation of Control Systems design products.
This is a long-term assignment. This position will operate on a DuPont shift working schedule (up to 12 hours at a time, rotating day and night shifts).
Responsibilities
Review Piping & Instrument Diagrams and Logic Diagrams for control and instrumentation software requirements
Prepare configuration documents to implement the software requirements, and conduct test plans to validate implemented software
Contributes to maintaining the project's instrument database using automated tools and has knowledge of the applicability of information to be populated in the instrument database
Achieves work process improvement and promotes continuous work process improvement
Champions nonproprietary electronic data interchange and integrate automation technology wherever practical
Demonstrates leadership qualities with emphasis on continuous improvement and team building, and interpersonal communication skills

Level 1
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Management, or related field and a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience in the previously mentioned disciplines.
In lieu of a Bachelor of Science degree, an additional 6 years (12 total) of directly related experience may be substituted
Level 2
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Management, or related field and a minimum of 9 years of relevant experience in the previously mentioned disciplines.
In lieu of a Bachelor of Science degree, an additional 6 years (15 total) of directly related experience may be substituted
Training. Upon hire, Bechtel (PCAPP) will train the selected candidate(s) in one or more of the following systems/disciplines:
FANUC robot code
Programmable Logic Controllers (programming, configuration)
Distributed Control Systems operations (Siemens, Honeywell)
Reading Piping & Instrument Diagrams and Logic Diagrams for control and instrumentation software requirements

PCAPP is looking for experienced information technology professionals with solid experience in one or more of the following (or related) areas to apply:
Operating systems administration (Linux/Unix, Windows, Cisco IOS, Juniper Junos, etc.)
Systems scripting experience (BASH, csh, Regex, PowerShell, WMI, Python, PhP, Perl, etc.)
Database / SQL administration, programming, or stored procedure development
Splunk / big data administration, complex query, and dashboard development
Programming or software development experience (VB, C++, C#, etc.)
IT Systems monitoring expertise (e.g. SNMP, WMI)
Ethical hacking, system/software reverse engineering skills
Telephony switch programming (PBX, Hybrid – IP PBX, Unified Communications, etc.)
Communications systems engineering (switching, routing, security, synchronous, asynchronous, serial, Ethernet multicast, etc.)
Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) configuration experience
Ideal candidates would have experience in two or more of the above or related disciplines/systems

Ability to learn a new scripting/programming language
High technical aptitude (able to grasp new systems and concepts without great difficulty)
Ability to read/understand logic &/or engineering diagrams and drawings

Solid interpersonal communication skills and ability to work with a diverse group of individuals, including similarly skilled as well as experienced Automation Engineers, working together to achieve mission success
