Apple is seeking a highly motivated, technically savvy, and customer focussed Network Engineer to join their Global Network Services (GNS) team, with a focus on Retail Network infrastructure. This is a technical, hands-on role in a dynamic and fast paced environment. The successful candidate will have a mixture of technical know-how as well as certain network analysis fundamentals and troubleshooting skills. This role is based in our Stockley Park office.

Key Qualifications

• Industry experience in large scale global networks
• Knowledge of TCP/IP and OSI models.
• Understanding of IPv4 and IPv6 subnetting and networking
• Able to effectively navigate UNIX, LINUX, and/or FreeBSD based operating systems.
• Having achieved at least one of the following certifications or having equivalent competencies: Cisco CCNA, Juniper JNCIS.
• Understanding of the following technologies: BGP and Internet routing protocols, Layer two switching, TCP/IP, IPv4/IPv6 Addressing/subnetting.
• Understanding of WAN circuits (POTS, Metro Ethernet, wavelengths, etc)
• Understanding of Wireless security architecture and protocols
• Knowledge of VPN technologies, including IPSec, 3DES, AES, IKE, DMVPN.
• Preferred Experience and Skills
• Cisco CCNA or CCNP certification Juniper JNCIS or JNCIP
• Programming experience in Python.
• Experience with centralised configuration management and automation technologies such as Ansible.
• Experience with Wireless technologies.

Additional Requirements

• This position requires 24x7 support availability for several weeks a year. Some change requests will require working outside of normal business hours.
