This cohort will receive special on-boarding designed to provide an effective re-entry into the workforce. iReturn provides experienced professionals with a 12-week "returnship" to prepare for a full-time career in one of several fields at Northrop Grumman through training, professional development and networking opportunities. Northrop Grumman Mission Systems in Sykesville, Maryland is seeking a Principal Industrial Engineer. The Industrial Engineer will work closely with the Operations Program Management (OPM), Manufacturing Engineering, and Cell Management organizations, on monitoring, organizing, and improving the flow of product through the manufacturing process in support of both internal and external customer delivery requirements.

Responsibilities will include:

Analyzes and designs sequence of operations and work flow to improve efficiencies in plant and production facilities and equipment layouts.

Establishes methods for maximum utilization of production facilities and personnel.

May establish or assist in establishing accident prevention measures and may manage training programs for personnel concerning all phases of production operations.

Conducts studies pertaining to cost control, cost reduction, inventory control, and production record systems. On the basis of these studies, develops and implements plans and programs for facility modifications and revisions to operating methods.

May assist facilities engineers in the planning and design of facilities.

Develops and maintains applications to assist in the acquiring, tracking, and analytics of data pertaining to various processes within the manufacturing operation.

Basic Qualifications:

A career break of at least two years

If required, Bachelors' degree and minimum 5 years of experience or Masters with minimum 3 years of experience (or whatever number of years of experience required for the appropriate level the target will be at the end of the returnship).

Salary Range: $75,100 USD - $75,100 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
