We are currently seeking an ambitious individual to join our team as a Private Markets Investment Analyst working together with colleagues to define, manage and achieve divisional business targets.
Role Purpose
HSBC Alternatives is the alternatives investment platform of HSBC Asset Management, with ~$50bn AUM and is one of the largest investors in private markets globally.
Investment role in the Private Markets team, focusing on PE / Private Credit / Infrastructure investments in Primary, Secondary and Co-investment opportunities.
In this role, you will
Screen primary, secondary and co-investment opportunities for the HAIL Private Markets investment team.
Assist in the due diligence of investment opportunities across a wide variety of transaction types across a range of geographic regions (i.e. North America, Europe, Asia Pacific).
Review investment opportunities to assess the overall risk / reward profile.
Participate in the team day-to-day activities of running a best-in-class global Alternative investment programme.
Assist in the monitoring and management of the existing portfolio, which includes having calls with managers and support the writing of investment monitoring reports.
Respond to inbound requests from clients and assist with their reporting and understanding of existing investments.
Maintain and update key investment databases including origination, workflow and performance databases.
Help the team manage its various governance forums – team investment and oversight committees.

Financial industry experience, with a sound understanding of private markets and corporate finance.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Strong analytical skills, with ability to think critically, conduct data analysis and solve problems.
Strong commercial acumen resulting in sound risk / reward judgments.
Strong presentation skills with ability to convince without hard-selling.
Strong financial modelling and Excel skills.
Strong presentation and PowerPoint skills.
Excellent project management and organizational skills.
Ability to work accurately and calmly under time pressure.
