Insurance UK operate a range of Life and Pension Funds which support long term Investment and Insurance products in which our customers invest.  Insurance UK is responsible for the investment operations and accounting for these customer Funds and also the Company’s own assets.

The GCB 6 Investment Operations and Finance Assistant role reports to the Senior Accountant, Investment Operations and Finance, managing the daily workflow to deliver accurate daily Fund prices, accounting and reporting for the customer and company Funds.

Through the operation of daily monitoring, controls and reconciliation, the role will help to ensure that customer transactions are completed in accordance with policy terms and conditions and regulatory requirements. The role will also help to ensure that assets are accounted for accurately and that internal and external investment reporting is delivered within required timescales.

The role will work closely with the wider Finance team supporting them in investment related and wider Life accounting areas

In this role you will:

• Ensure accurate unit prices produced daily for upload to administration system. and all Fund unit positions managed to ensure matching of assets and liabilities to minimise market exposure to the Company
• Manage daily, weekly and monthly timetable to ensure all tasks are covered and completed 
• Ensure Internal group and external regulatory reporting completed accurately within required deadlines.
• Participate in governance forums and committees
• Contributing towards the achievement of the wider team deliverables.
• Driving self and team development

Requirements

• Investment Accounting and Unit Pricing knowledge - essential
• Detailed knowledge of general ledger accounting, evidenced by performing detailed reconciliations - essential 
• Good spreadsheet skills - essential 
• Ability to work accurately to tight deadlines
• Good team working skills
• Experience participating in governance forums and committees - essential
• Experience of supervisor activities and managing workflow allocation and delivery
