 Position Summary: - Plant 98 Inventory Analyst

This is a 1st shift position. Performs supply chain and logistics functions, which may include, but are not limited to, material procurement, production planning, inventory control, outsourcing, vendor selection, and distribution. Creates integrated processes among internal functions such as operations, purchasing and logistics, and outside suppliers.

Focuses resources on continuous improvement of the movement of materials through various production processes and establishes key performance metrics and benchmarks relating to supply chain planning/forecasting to measure actual performance against goals on a regular basis. Promotes alignment by understanding and communicating customer needs and requirements throughout the organization.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Expedite materials from their respective sources: Interplant, purchasing, vendor and engineering.
  • Communicate, coordinate and resolve problems with receiving, inspection, purchasing, wax room, assembly, shop floor operators, high performance, service, manufacturing engineers, industrial engineers, vendors and product change (MPE/BOM).
  • Investigate, analyze and initiate bills of material, engineering, routing and source changes and perform necessary systems maintenance.
  • Develop Pull system targets to facilitate the flow of materials for production
  • Own, execute, document, distribute and present KPI reports on a daily/weekly/monthly/quarterly basis, to be used as tools for trend tracking and decision making by operations group.
  • Coordinate further processing of components by external vendors
  • Manage Planning parameters and inventory to target levels
  • Coordinate delivery of product to our customers
  • Ensures that inventories are secure, properly identified and readily accessible to authorized personnel
  • Maintains controls over various types of inventories (e.g., raw materials, subassemblies, finished goods)
  • Conducts physical inventory counts and reconciles results with inventory records
  • Ensures that quantities of incoming and outgoing shipments are correct
  • Conducts analyses of inventory levels and coordinates with production and sales requirements
  • Drive root cause analysis and problems solving individually and in within cross-functional teams.

WHAT YOU NEED TO BRING TO OUR WINNING TEAM:

Knowledge, Skill and Ability Requirements:

  • Extensive knowledge in Microsoft applications required (especially MS Excel) and knowledge of mainframe/ERP systems desirable.
  • Strong understanding of Inventory Control Techniques/KanBan/material flow systems
  • Knowledge of bill of material required.
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing and APICS certification desirable.
  • Strong analytical abilities.
  • Good communication skills.
  • The ability to work in an unsupervised environment.

Education Requirements:

  • 6-12 months material control experience including production control, inventory control or scheduling desired.
  • Previous experience with Lean Six Sigma, and KanBan preferred
  • Bachelors degree in Business or Supply Chain.
