The Analyst of Inventory Strategy is responsible for executing and implementing Cox Media's overarching pricing and inventory management strategy, which is determined by the LV Sales Leaders. This position is responsible for maximizing our inventory holistically for the Las Vegas system by analyzing reports and data that provide critical business intelligence, and by making recommendations to the LV Leadership Team and or the Manager of Inventory Strategy. This includes executing on the creation and deployment of inventory strategies, sales and pricing strategies that vary by sales channel, modeling various "inventory" or pricing model scenarios, or client segmentation modeling to ensure maximum benefit to Cox Media. This is an analyst level role with significant responsibility for serving as a Las Vegas thought leader in optimizing yield management of Cox Media Las Vegas’ advertising products. This position reports to the General Sales Manager of Cox Media Las Vegas.
Principle Accountabilities:
Advises and partners with Las Vegas market level Directors of Sales, Sales Managers, Sales Services Managers, Marketing and Client Solutions Managers, in the development and utilization of best practices and tools necessary to maximize the value of Cox Media advertising products in a dynamic market environment.
Identifies and deploys best practices in inventory strategy, driving improvements in demand management reporting, and AUR (average unit rate) and sellout rates for maximum sales growth.
Analyzes designs and delivers implementation to deploy new strategies to sales channels (internal) and to clients (external).
Develops back end system requirements with the General Sales Manager and processes to manage the metrics behind each new strategy, and to make recommendations with strong business cases.
Develops and maintains leading business relationships internally and externally with partners, peers, and clients to understand market strategies and articulates our needs for products and services, and facilitates company goal achievement.
Helps to evaluate partnerships that may have solutions to company problems and business needs. Negotiates & executes contracts, where applicable, including SLAs with these partners, and supports other departments during management.
Assists in the accomplishment of company objectives by performing other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
2 years of data analysis experience required
Preferred minimum of five years’ experience in a related field, media and cable television experience a strong plus
Bachelor's degree in related field preferred, MBA a plus.
Proven ability to develop detailed work plans and execute under pressure. Must be able to work independently and deliver measurable results.
Must be a team-player and thrive in an environment that promotes strong individual skills that are easily applied to the goals of the team and company.
Self-starter with the ability to work under pressure and in a fast-paced and sometimes ambiguous environment, complete multiple tasks at one time, meet deadlines, and self-recognized and adapt to priorities that change often.
Exceptional interpersonal/people skills including verbal and written communication and presentation skills to any size audience.
Strong organizational, detail, problem-solving, and follow-up skills. Exudes a professional image inside and outside the company.
Shows commitment to self-development by demonstrated desire to learn new ways of doing business, staying abreast of competitors/industry major initiatives
Willingness to travel by car and/or air as needed.
Strong MS Office Product competencies, especially in Excel. Access strongly preferred.
SQL, Novar, Strata TIM, Strata View32 software are also preferred.
Visio and Project a plus.
