Working within a bustling atmosphere as part of passionate team, this role as an Interpretation Assistant plays a core part in providing fantastic customer service. You will be giving tours, talks and introducing people to the story of the Quarry Bank and those that lived here. Whether it’s an educational group or general visitors, you’ll give everyone a fascinating insight into the history of the property.
Hours: There are two positions available; one at 12 hours a week and one at 6 hours a week. Please note that Quarry Bank is open seven days a week and this role will require weekday and regular weekend work. This can be further discussed at the interview stage. Please note this role is based on annualised hours, where the amount of hours you work each month may vary, however your salary will be paid in 12 equal instalments over the year.
Salary: £8.91 per hour
Duration: Fixed-Term contract until 30-Oct-2022
This former cotton mill was built in 1784 and is one of Britain’s greatest industrial heritage sites. The busy estate hosts many schools programmes and events, which help bring Quarry Bank’s fascinating story to life. New areas of the estate will shortly open to the public, creating additional project-based roles. This is an exciting opportunity to work in fast growing location and the team pride themselves on being dynamic, highly motivated and passionate people.

As an Interpretation Assistant, you’ll bring the magic of this property alive. To give visitors a glimpse into days gone by, you’ll provide engaging interpretation for our visitors to feel like they're stepping back in time with us. Whether it’s an educational group or general visitors, you’ll give everyone a fascinating insight into the history of the property.
You'll be a charismatic storyteller, someone who enjoys working and interacting with people. It’s important that you’ve a keen interest in history, as well as experience of working with the public and especially children and young people. Along with a passion for providing the highest standards of customer service, you’ll also be able to inspire those around you with your passion and enthusiasm for our work.
