Cox Automotive is currently looking for an Internal Communications Manager to join our team in Atlanta, Georgia.  For candidates outside of the Atlanta area, we will consider a remote employee.  You must reside in the Eastern Time Zone or Central Time Zone in the United States.  For candidates in the Atlanta area, we offer a flexible hybrid working environment.

The Role:

The Internal Communications Manager is an individual contributor who acts as a business partner and advisor to Product and Engineering partners. Under the direction of the Director of Internal Communication, the Employee Communication Manager will develop and implement communication strategy and manage day-to-day employee communication needs. The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker and collaborative partner, familiar with a variety of communication tools and technology, has a track record managing an editorial calendar, project plan and supporting communication programs. 

Responsibilities:

Craft messages and write communications that are detailed, accurate and concise, and tailored to the author, vehicle and audience on a range of topics that span departmentwide messaging, leadership communication, meeting presentations, video scripts, key messages, and talking points.

Participate in or lead cross-functional teams or projects leveraging communications expertise.

Manage Product & Engineering bimonthly newsletter and intranet page, seeking out opportunities to grow each channel and increase readership and engagement.

Manage the Product and Engineering employee communication editorial calendar to ensure greater consistency and alignment of employee communication activities happening across the department.

Establish and manage ongoing measurement and reporting process to ensure employee communications is delivering greater overall value (ROI). 

Seek out and analyze employee feedback mechanisms and interpret data to recommend improvements and best practices.

Foster relationships across the organization to support different initiatives and leaders with development of communication. 

Collaborate with stakeholders across Product and Engineering, other departments, and across communications, PR and Marketing to seek out subject matter experts to ensure that information is current, accurate, and properly coordinated with other strategic initiatives.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in a related field and at least 5 years of employee communication experience OR an equivalent combination of education and work-related experience.  

Preferred Qualifications:

Prior management of employee communication programs, processes, and channels including intranet, blogs, emails, town halls and more.

Experience managing editorial calendars.

Exceptional written and verbal communication skills that can effectively engage employees and help them understand and foster the organization’s mission, vision, values, culture, goals and strategies.

Strong project management and problem-solving skills.

Ability to multi-task and keep numerous projects on track and on budget.

Ability to measure and report on the effectiveness of the employee communication programs and its value to the company’s goals and strategic initiatives.
