What You’ll Do
As an Internal Business Advisor, you’ll combine many enviable skills: researcher, project manager, coach, even “improvement iconâ€. Here are just a few of the ways you’ll bring your enlightened expertise to this role:
You’ll consult various Cox teams on how to enhance processes and internal controls, making recommendations as to how they can up their operational excellence.
You’ll use and develop critical tools like risk assessments, audit programs, and testing procedures so you and your team can identify risk, reach conclusions, and explore solutions.
You’ll pinpoint continuous improvement opportunities for teams you consult, always mindful of the delicate balance between risk, cost/benefit, and the opportunity for heightened performance.
You’ll review audit evidence to prepare and review detailed and accurate workpapers, ensuring we always adhere to our high professional standards
You’ll have plenty of opportunities to organize and present project summaries, using a variety of our communication tools. You’ll apply an array of methodologies, tools, and technologies supporting the department’s portfolio of services to deliver high-value deliverables and results.
You’ll stay attuned to the latest business and industry developments – as well as the newest Cox standards – so you can use your consulting creativity to assist in the evolution and enhancement of a variety of our departments, as well as our own Audit Services department.

You’re a clear communicator, on the page and on your feet. You’re candid yet discreet, open, and organized, trusting and trustworthy, and you absorb new knowledge quickly and eagerly.
Here are some additional qualifications that should be part of your portfolio:
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance/Economics, Management Information Systems, Business Administration
MBA or equivalent work experience/professional education preferred but not required
A minimum of 2-5 years performing or leading advisory/assurance projects & consulting/advisory experience.
Proficiency with data analysis and process mapping applications, MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Visio).
And one or more of these certifications is preferred, but not required:
Certification(s) with CIA, CPA, CISA, or Six Sigma.
