Job Description

Purpose of the job

  • To be accountable for the delivery of budget sales margins and volumes on an individual basis within the Business to Business (B2B) Sales team. 
  • To be responsible for the Sales and Account Management of a defined list of customers and Third Party Intermediaries (TPI’s) ensuring that a high level of service is provided at all times.
  • Develop and maximise commercial opportunities, ensuring that customers and TPI’s receives a high level of service at all times by managing all elements of the sales and contract process.

Main Responsibilities/Duties Include: 

Key Accountabilities
•    To deliver personal sales targets based on delivering sales margin, volume and site numbers.
•    To contribute towards the delivery of the team and sales departments targets.
•    Negotiate gas and electricity supply contracts (new business and renewals) with customers and TPI’s ensuring the required renewal and hit rates are achieved.
•    Assist in identifying and developing new opportunities ensure personal and team targets are achieved (financial and volume growth).
•    Working with the Channel Manager, build and deliver structured relationships with TPI’s and prospects to deliver the required sales targets.
•    Manage a portfolio of customer accounts, ensuring completeness and accuracy of data required to perform the contract, ensure a market leading service and experience for customers and TPI’s and maximising value at all times.
•    Ensure accurate customer take-on in accordance with process.
•    Where appropriate, ensure that contract disputes are resolved in a timely manner.
•    Adherence to Sales Limits of Authority and internal process and risk frameworks.

 Required Qualifications, Skills or Experience: 

Knowledge and skills
•    Knowledge of the UK Energy Market with special reference to Retail.
•    Knowledge of complex products (traded market) and product development.
•    Numeracy.
•    Verbal reasoning.
•    Ability to resolve complex issues.
•    Microsoft Office proficient.
•    Presentation proposal and report writing skills.
•    Negotiation skills.
•    Knowledge of sales techniques and optimisation.
•    Planning and development against objectives.
•    Relationship management.
•    Dispute management

Experience
•    Able to manage customer relationships.
•    Preferable experience of sales techniques and optimisation.
•    Previous industry experience is preferable.

Qualifications
•    Degree or equivalent experience preferable
