The 20th TV Comedy Development team is responsible for creating both broadcast and streaming content across each of our Disney platforms and beyond.
A Day in the Life…
The 20th TV Comedy Development intern will support and collaborate with all members of the team as we identify new show ideas, target networks and streamers to sell to and work with writers, directors and producers to take an idea from pitch to production.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Learn by immersion: Observe the traditional broadcast development cycle from the ground up, learning the ins and outs of how a new idea becomes a new series.
Anticipate needs: Monitor the work process of the team and implement new ways to add value.
Dive into creative research: Take assignments from team members and make them your own, spearheading original research for upcoming development and helping expose the team to articles, programs, and other creative materials of which they may not have been aware.
Script Coverage: Reading incoming script submissions and providing a summary and analysis for potential development
Maintain department reference documents and files
Administrative support: compiling grids and memos

Can self-start, work autonomously, and juggle multiple projects simultaneously
Strong organization skills and attention to detail
Excellent verbal, written and active listening skills
Ability to prioritize competing tasks
Proficient in Microsoft Office suite
(Preferred Qualifications)
Strong ability for script/book coverage
Ability to work with confidential information
Positive attitude and the ability to be proactive, resourceful and flexible
Required Education:
Junior or Senior-level standing college student, Graduate student, or a recent graduate.

Additional Details:
Must be enrolled in an accredited college/university taking at least one class in the semester/quarter (spring/fall) prior to participation in the internship program OR must have graduated from a college/university within 6 months OR currently participating in a Disney College Program or Disney Professional Internship​
Must be at least 18 years of age​
Must not have completed one year of continual employment on a Disney internship or program. ​
Must possess unrestricted work authorization.​
This internship is a hybrid position -- Must be able to provide own housing and reliable transportation for work in the Los Angeles, CA area. Also requires a working, reliable internet connection as well as a quiet, dedicated workspace.​
Program length -- The approximate dates of this internship are January 2023 through June 2023.
Work details -- Must be able to work full time hours (approximately 32 to 40 hours per week) Monday through Friday 10am to 6pm PT for the duration of the internship
Must be able to have a consistent, reliable work schedule throughout the session​
