Support the sales professionals and our customers by providing the most comprehensive insurance programs and products at the most competitive value available.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
The following is a summary of the essential functions for this job. Other duties may be performed, both major and minor, which are not mentioned below. Specific activities may change from time to time.
1. Develop an overall plan and strategy to ensure the ultimate marketing and sales objectives are met. Allocate responsibility and direct the flow of work.
2. Represent the agency on insurance matters to protect the interests of the agency, acting with the advice of other collaborating units of the agency.
3. Ensure the responsibility, authority and accountability of managing direct subordinates.
4. Keep abreast of all new developments in the Insurance market through periodicals, seminars, membership organizations, and insurance brokers. Communicate local underwriting information on companies and programs. Communicate workflow on accounts.
5. Coordinate, manage and direct the regional commercial marketing process.
6. With the assistance and direction of their manager, maintain commercial lines carrier relationships and coordinate agency/company production planning.
7. Coordinate the placement of all accounts, as necessary, including a log of all submissions with ultimate outcome.
8. Add value to the producer/production/sales process.
9. Make sales presentations with sales professionals.
Required Skills and Competencies:

1. Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education and related training
2. Six years of experience in insurance industry
3. Two years of management experience
4. Verbal and written communication skills
5. Problem solving ability and negotiating skills
6. Appropriate insurance licenses
7. Demonstrated proficiency in basic computer applications such as Microsoft Office software products
8. Ability to travel, occasionally overnight
Desired Skills:
1. Knowledge of BB&T Insurance\'s automation system or ability to learn quickly
