We are currently seeking an experienced individual to join this team in the role of Java Developer  

The  Developer facilitates the design and development of the digital platforms which support the Capability Framework in WPB UK. The Capability Framework is a key control, under the Senior Management Regime (SMR), to evidence staff attaining and maintaining competence. Management of the digital solution includes designing and implementing appropriate functionality & controls, analysing feedback & requested requirements, making recommendations and executing changes. Doing this effectively requires building a close working relationship with key stakeholders across multiple business areas to understand current positon and the impact of any future changes.

The successful applicant will support system development & maintenance becoming a subject matter expert (SME) to support colleagues and key stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Liaise with nominated business stakeholders when required to ensure that business requirements are fully understood before commencing design and development.
  • Accountable for ensuring the design of the product solutions are cost effective and maintained through the agile development lifecycle, managing the flow of the backlog of design activities.
  • Ability to influence key stakeholders in order to achieve the best desired outcome
  • Responsible for translating detailed designs into robust, scalable and reusable solutions that deliver exceptional user experience.
  • Fully test implemented solutions in advance of User Acceptance Testing
  • Collaborate with team members on reviewing requirements, designs, and code refactoring for appropriateness and provides suggestions for improvement.

 

 

Requirements

The successful candidate will have:

  • Excellent JavaScript knowledge
  • Experience of SQL & Microsoft Office (Excel/PowerPoint)
  • Excellent Technical lead knowledge, assisting other developers
  • Experience of analysing data effectively to provide insight and inform effective intervensions
  • Demonstrate strong communication skills which will enable you to engage in effective conversations with internal and external customers & to build strong professional rapport
  • Excellent written and spoken communication skills

This role can be flexible on location with ad-hoc travel to Birmingham and Whiteley
