Project Overview

Bechtel Parsons Blue Grass is the systems contractor selected by the Department of Defense’s Assembled Chemical Weapons Alternatives program to design, build, systemize, test, operate, and close a facility to destroy the chemical weapons stockpile at the Blue Grass Army Depot in Richmond, Kentucky. The Blue Grass Chemical Agent-Destruction Pilot Plant (BGCAPP) will safely destroy 523 tons of mustard and nerve agent in projectiles and rockets. Neutralization followed by supercritical water oxidation is the technology selected by the Department of Defense to destroy the nerve agent, while the Explosive Destruction Technology will be used to destroy the mustard in the Blue Grass chemical weapons stockpile.

 

Candidates for unescorted access to the Chemical Limited Area must successfully clear National Agency Check with Local Check (NACLC). All employees are subject and agree to random drug and alcohol testing as a condition of employment. Must be physically fit and able to work safely at an operating plant. Eligible applicants must be a US Citizen and successfully go through a government screening process. Based on project goals and objectives, candidates established within our local community are desirable.

 

BGCAPP operates on a 24/7 schedule. This position may be required to work overtime and on call including nights, weekends or holidays. The ability to obtain/maintain access to the Blue Grass Army Depot is required.

 

Position Summary

The Blue Grass Chemical Agent-Destruction Pilot Plant (BGCAPP) is looking for a at the Richmond, KY Site location. This position will report to the IS&T Manager at the BGCAPP project. This is a long-term assignment with a 4-10s schedule. The work hours are from 6:30am – 5:00pm. This position may require on-call and overtime hours as deemed necessary.

 

This BGAPP position falls under the scope of the McNamara-O’Hara Service Contract Act of 1965 (SCA). The SCA requires BGCAPP to provide employees with benefits and wages no less than the amounts the Department of Labor has established for the location and classification in which the employee will be working. 

 

Responsibilities

Respond to customers' needs, questions and concerns in an accurate, effective and timely manner.

Investigate and resolve problems and provide information about the technology to the users and to service delivery.

Performs assignments that require initiative and limited independent judgment in the monitoring, maintaining, reporting and conducting entry-level fault finding resolution and responds to technical issues and requests.

Create and maintain trouble tickets, configuration and inventory records; create process maps.

Perform specific tasks utilizing prescribed information technology methods

Conduct tests of standard hardware and/or software affected using supplied test procedures and diagnostic tools.

Assist in resolving problems and faults concerning installation of hardware or software

Monitor site automation support issues and escalate as necessary for speedy resolution either locally or to site or remote IS&T BSAP support teams.

Identify and implement technical innovations that add value and improve project work processes.

Support applicable cybersecurity threats facing the plant in all phases of the project and in accordance with BSII and DOD policy.

Work with IT personnel to improve security awareness and integrate security into the system development life cycle.

Support applicable project property management procedures and processes.

Ensure system security requirements are addressed during all phases of the system life cycle.

All other related IT scope and tasks as needed and/or directed by the Blue Grass IT Manager.

 

Qualifications and Skills

Basic Qualifications

Must be a US Citizen.

Must be able to obtain and maintain any security clearances required for this position according to Army Regulation 50-6 (Chemical Surety). *

Must possess a recognized bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or related field from an accredited college or university and minimum of 1 year of experience. In lieu of bachelor’s degree, candidate must have 7 years of experience. 

Proficiency working with databases, Microsoft operating systems, Microsoft Office programs, and computer technician or help desk experience.

 

Minimum Qualifications

Proficiency with Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office products.

Procurement and requisition experience.

Strong organizational skills.

Strong customer service skills.

Ability to handle customer interactions in an accurate, effective and timely manner.

Ability to articulate ideas and write clear and concise reports.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Mobile, desktop, and centrally hosted applications.

 Working knowledge of the Risk Management Framework (RMF).

Workstation maintenance tasks including Microsoft program upgrades and deployments.

Knowledge of the following:

End user devices including PCs, multi-function devices, VOIP, and mobile devices

Windows workstation and server technologies

Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Office and other project standard applications.

Image building and deployment

Must be willing to Work additional hours as needed to provide support to the project for outages/events and night shift.

 

Preferred Qualifications

Working knowledge of software deployment tools such as Microsoft SCCM, PDQ

Ability to run and interpret database reports.

Help desk ticketing system experience.
