Headquarters 1 Group are looking for a motivated individual to join our Chief of Staff team as an Information Manager. 1 Group delivers world-class Air Power for the UK by coordinating the fast-jet force elements, the Intelligence, Surveillance, Targeting and Reconnaissance force and the Air and Space Warfare Centre. This is a key post in aiding the Headquarters to offer fundamental support to the IT & Information Management elements of the 1 Gp team.
This position is advertised at 37 hours per week
Have excellent organisational and time management skills with ability to work independently in a fast paced dynamic environment. Must have some awareness of civil service HR and wider finance activities, in addition to being a proactive team member with a good understanding of IT skills, excel, the ability to engage with end users as well as being able to interrogate and provide analysis from the information presented, when required. Information Management. Set in place the processes to deliver HQ 1 Gp’s information requirements; maintain information management plan, manage information flow, coordinate and enforce information management activities in accordance with related MOD and RAF Policy. Also, help prompt information and knowledge management within the 1Gp AOR.
- Information Technology (IT). Act as the focal point for support of IT equipment (MODNet, DII Secret (DII(S)), including the provision of Local Security Officer (LSO)
and Expert User (in accordance with AP 7004) duties for HQ 1 Gp.
- Assist and support 1Gp personnel in the use of MODNet and DII(S) equipment.
- Manage and track the 1 Gp floor-plate DII(S) Restricted Hard Drives (RHDs) held on account by HQ 1Gp/ engage with USyO to ensure F102 is correct and up to date
and any security issues have been reported.
- Maintain a register of MODNet Laptops and iPhones held on account by HQ 1Gp.
- Distribution of MODNet Laptops and iPhones for use of 1Gp personnel.
- Set up MODNet equipment for use by 1Gp personnel.
- Conduct the duties of the LSO and AD for 1Gp personnel, including:
- Set up existing and new staff on MODNet and DII(S).
- Removal of the accounts of departing staff.
- Deal with changes to staff details (e.g. name and role changes).
- Validate software and hardware requests for 1Gp personnel.
- Maintain SharePoint access permissions on MODNet and DII(S).
- Validate and manage SharePoint access permissions for external users.
- Represent the interests of HQ 1 Gp as the intelligent customer interface when progressing CIS incidents through the incident management process
- Support DCOS with Business Resilience plans.
- Promote a consistent and coherent approach to ways of working, exploit functionality and technology, provide architecture that optimises the delivery of HQ 1 Gp
outputs and enhances the user experience.
- Assist staff with use of information systems, work with staff to address shortfalls and advise them on relevant training.
- Ensure adequate processes are in place to manage the Records Management System file plan; record retention, review and retrieval in accordance with current
regulations.
- Maintain the HQ 1 Gp SharePoint Team Sites iaw Air policy.
- Improve the information flows and processes that support better decision making.
- Act as the main focal point for all GDPR policy matters and advise as required.
- Act as the main focal point for the administration of mandatory competencies of HQ 1 Gp personnel.
- Provide resilience and support to the Admin Support E1 and undertake HQ 1 Gp information management priorities as directed by Business Support Manager.
