Summary

The TRA is one of the first public bodies to be set up to meet the new needs of the UK following its departure from the European Union. We play a central part in ensuring that the international trading environment is fair as well as free, by protecting British businesses from unfair trading practices such as dumping, trade-distorting subsidies and unforeseen surges in imports.

Job description

As an Information Management Project Manager you will lead a cross-TRA project, influencing across the organisation to achieve a consensus to establish information management governance, procuring external technical support and account managing that relationship. Working at the strategic heart of our organisation, you will be part of a small team that manages the governance, business planning and corporate functions for the TRA.

Role Purpose

In this role, you will develop and implement a project plan that will provide the foundation for controlling, managing and exploiting our information and data. You will ensure there is strong governance in place to underpin this and be responsible for shaping and championing the culture in TRA on information security. This role will provide an opportunity to lead a project that engages with all teams across the TRA. You will also work directly with the senior leadership team.

The role would suit someone with an information management or governance background looking to develop their project management skills or someone with a project background interested in developing their understanding of information management and governance. There will be learning and development opportunities to support you in this role, including professional development in areas such as information, project and risk management.

Key Accountabilities

Reporting to the Governance and Secretariat Lead, you will:

-Build the knowledge and information management (KIM) project plan, ensuring all KIM work areas are planned;

-Identify KIM risks and dependencies and ensure the risk log is updated monthly;

-Report on milestones to ensure the KIM project plan is on track;

-Lead the review of SharePoint governance for the TRA and develop a change plan, working with all business areas and in partnership with the IT team; this could include commercial procurement of external expertise;

-Create and lead a SharePoint Champions network, providing a forum to support and develop the community of information managers across TRA;

-Develop a plan and process to manage the retention of information assets to meet the requirements of the Public Records Act 1958.

•Effective communication skills, with the ability to clarify and summarise key issues

•Ability to build rapport and working relationships with internal and external stakeholders

•Experience of working under pressure and to tight timelines

•Experience of managing work to ensure stakeholders have assurance on progress and milestones and deliverables are clear and met on time, cost and to a high standard

•Experience of influencing change in process or culture

Desirable Experience:

•Experience of working in an information management role

•Understanding of SharePoint architecture

•Either hold or currently undertaking a project delivery qualification or willingness to undertake one (PRINCE2, MSP, APM or Management of Risk)

•Experience of risk management
