Core Responsibilities:
· Apply microbiology knowledge and skills to provide support for biotransformation projects.
· Cell bank (MCB, WCB) preparation and maintenance.
· Nutrient media preparation and sterilization.
· Fermentation vessel (flask, fermenter etc.) and equipment sterilization and preparation.
· Seed train generation for fermentation runs.
· Monitor fermentation contamination, assay, QC and verify aseptic conditions.
· Characterize, identify and deposit newly acquired microorganisms.
· Conduct basic downstream processing operations (cell lysis, biomass separation, micro- & ultrafiltration).
· Record and document all stages of work, operate lab information & knowledge management system (ELN etc.).
· Other assigned duties and responsibilities.
Qualified candidates will have:
· Min BSc degree in microbiology, biotechnology or related field.
· Hands-on experience in modern microbiology techniques, microbial assay, identification and classification methods.
· Applied knowledge of microbial physiology, biochemistry, enzyme fermentation, downstream processing.
· Understanding of modern molecular biology, strain and enzyme engineering.
· Min 5 years working experience in industrial fermentation environment.
