Position Title: Logistics Lead
Reports To: Inbound Logistics Manager
Rank: B4
Purpose of Role: The Inbound logistics lead is responsible for leading the execution of all Inbound Logistics functions. This position is additionally responsible for providing leadership to develop, document, maintain and proactively improve Logistics processes, methods, and inventory systems. The job involves the leading of all Mars policies and procedures as it pertains to safety, inventory, and quality management programs.
Principal Accountabilities:
- Lead the execution of all Inbound Logistics related tasks and assignments
- Manage vendor relations with 3PLs (warehouses, transportation, and fleet vendors).
- Lead warehouse activities related to inventory management systems (SAP, JDA, and NEXUS)
- Lead the execution of all freight loads
- Leads and executes strategies that deliver Shift Safety, Quality, Quantity and Cost objectives.
- Work as a liaison between Operations, Quality, and Logistics teams to ensure all activities are being actioned and completed.
- Assist Inbound Logistics Manager to complete assignments and fill in for Inbound Logistics Manager as needed.

Key Functional Skills/Knowledge
- Must be fluent as a user of all Microsoft office and Mars inventory management programs
- Must be able to plan based on factory flow, available equipment, and customer order needs
- Troubleshoot inventory management systems
- Must have an advanced working knowledge FIFO & FEFO procedures
- Must be able to assess product quality and troubleshoot any issues associated with product quality.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Effectively communicate and influence at all levels of the organization including the reporting and presentation of data as required.
- The ability to effectively manage and prioritize a multitude of tasks occurring simultaneously.
- Ability to transfer procedures and training experiences to others
- Flexibility to adapt to regularly changing priorities
- Ability to handle sensitive information
Key Experiences
- Two years of relevant warehousing experience and or related industries
- 2 years experience in a logistics technical support role
- Demonstrated Leadership skills
- Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills
- Demonstrated presentation skills
- Knowledge of Mars quality systems and lean manufacturing principles preferred
Desired Education
- Bachelor’s degree or relevant experience
