Job Description and Qualifications

POSITION SUMMARY

These positions primarily support all Air Products business areas importing into the US and Canada by managing the import process and our relationships with our Brokers. This support includes all products and imported materials of the Gases and Equipment business areas and includes American goods returned, such as empty tanks and Dewars. These positions also manage compliance with the United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement (USMCA) as well as all other regional Free Trade Agreements. Additionally, the incumbents must remain current on new and revised import and export regulations and implement internal procedures to ensure compliance.


PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
 

  • Oversee all import transactions into the US and Canada
  • Provide assistance for global AP imports
  • Provide a point of contact for AP Customs Brokers and Freight Forwarders
  • Ensure that all import documentation is completed and filed for each transaction
  • Assist in any audits performed by US Customs and/or APCI
  • Assist AP importers with proper procedures and provide low-cost alternatives
  • Recommend proper INCO terms for international shipments
  • Oversee all Free Trade Programs and ensure proper compliance
  • Oversee the return of AP goods from abroad
  • Recommend and assist in applying for Duty Drawback for high volume products and raw materials
  • Train the business areas on Duty Optimization options and present Duty Optimization options to importers

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Degree is preferred.
  • Minimum 3 years in Customer Service, Logistics, Distribution, or a related area.
  • Experience with exporting and/or importing.
