Our technology teams in the UK work closely with HSBC’s global businesses to help design and build digital services that allow our millions of customers around the world, to bank quickly, simply and securely. We also run and manage our IT infrastructure, data centres and core banking systems that power the world’s leading international bank.

Our multi-disciplined teams include: DevOps engineers, IT architects, front and back end developers, infrastructure specialists, cyber experts, as well as project and programme managers.

We work in small, agile DevOps teams with colleagues around the world.

Following extensive investment across our Technology and Digital domains, we are currently seeking an experienced Identity & Access Management-  Development & Engineering Manager to join HSBC Technology.

HSBC's Identity & Access Management Cybersecurity function.  Identity & Access Management (IAM), in the first line of defence, serves as the focal point in Cybersecurity for access related activities ensuring that HSBC's electronic based assets are monitored, managed, accessed and protected effectively so that only those people with a legitimate business need can access or modify them, when they need to do so.

This position will be responsible for reporting to the Head of IAM Engineering, you will lead a number of technical teams, across a number of internally developed and 3rd-party technologies, to develop, maintain and support the identity and access governance systems for HSBC.  Working with Cyber colleagues you must drive the technology estate forward, delivering automation, modernisation and efficiencies for the IAM department and the many other internal customers of the tooling. You will also be responsible for the technology services and manage the team members who engineer them.

 

What you will be doing;

  • Delivering & running IAM control technology to protect the Bank and satisfy the customer.
  • Developing the IAG products responsibly, engaging with colleagues across the function, department and wider to deliver sustainable operational technologies that allow the organisation to meet its control responsibilities.
  • Supporting delivery of major Cyber Security IAM programs providing significant uplift in IAM capability and maturity.
  • Working with stakeholders to turn control requirements into operational reality, with a focus on the user and constant drive for automation.
  • Leading a mature and experienced group of IAM technicians - overseeing all management and leadership activities including performance management, coaching, team agile development, resource and financial management.
  • Maintaining the highest standard of IT service for the IAG tooling, to ensure confidentiality, integrity and availability on a 24x7 basis, and meeting audit and regulatory expectations.
  • Overseeing evergreening of the environments as required, managing change associated risk appropriately.
  • Providing thought leadership to the broader IAM engineering function and contributing in a leadership role to the IAM Engineering management team - promoting how IAM solutions can support other areas in meeting risk and compliance requirements (such as recertification, privileged access management etc)

 

 

 

Requirements

 

What you will bring to the role; 

 

To be successful in this role you should have proven experience within the Technology sector with knowledge of the following skills:

 

  • Have a passion for both Identity & Access Management and large scale technology infrastructure and development., as well as the ability to thrive in a complex and challenging technical environment, driving delivery utilising highly technical resources using an agile methodology.
  • Past working experience in. IAM Technology/Engineering and working on relevant systems, i.e. Identity & Access Governance technology solutions
  • Experience managing technical teams
  • A desire to find ways to continually improve the service delivered to customers
  • A track record of delivering significant change which improves business effectiveness in sustainable ways
  • Experience of supporting others' performance, enabling them to achieve by providing clear direction, motivation and support
  • The ability to make strategic business decisions, considering relevant risks, long term implications, commercial realities and stakeholders needs
  • Strong spoken and written communication skills with experience of adapting your style and approach to the audience and message to be delivered
  • Strong product knowledge of SailPoint IIQ is essential
  • Extensive IGA ( Identity Governance & Administration) Development experience is mandatory

 

This role’s base location will be Sheffield; however other UK base locations can be considered.
