JOB DESCRIPTION

Purpose of the position:

The purpose of this position is to offer to citizens of Khost newly graduated from Law or Sharia faculty the possibility to gain some professional experience with NRC in the legal fields related to House, Land and Property rights as well as documentation. The ICLA Intern will be expected to follow NRC’s Mandate and Code of Conduct and ensure assistance to beneficiaries is carried out in a principled manner. 

Generic responsibilities:

  • Adhere to NRC policies, tools, handbooks and guidelines
  • Work on the documentation of ongoing legal cases under the supervision of NRC legal counselors;
  • To be motivate on learning from the legal working environment (internship work plan)
  • Assist legal counselors in following up on cases with relevant judiciary departments;
  • Support in entering relevant legal information about cases for submission to database.
  • Any other task as required by project needs.
  • Promote and share ideas for improvement in your area of expertise.

Specific responsibilities:

  • Work on the documentation of ongoing legal cases, Capacity Building Trainings, referral cases, information sessions and other components under the supervision of NRC ICLA Technical Assistants. 
  • Assist ICLA Team in following up on cases with relevant judiciary departments. 
  • Work in cooperation with legal trainer to deliver capacity building and Mentorships events/ activities for participants.  
  • Assist ICLA team in data entry in PDB and preparing intake forms as soft and hard. 
  • Preparing reports to the line manger about their activities. 
  • Any other tasks as required by project needs. 

Generic Professional Competencies:

  • Graduated from Law or Sharia Faculty. 
  • Age (Maximum 30). 
  • Ability to travel outside of Khost city and all Khost districts. 
  • Resident of Khost Province or originally from Khost.

  5. Basic Computer Knowledge

Essential Skills:

  • Good cultural, social, political and security knowledge of the area.
  • Proven communication, interpersonal and negotiation skills (with strong experience).
  • Good report-writing skills.
  • Fluency in written and oral Pashto, Dari and a basic command of English language.
