This Product Manager role will be responsible for Product planning, product management, strategy and product roadmap for On-Premise, Off-Premise, Edge, Telco, Private and Hybrid Compute Cloud, Data Storage Services and Solutions in partnership with various product engineering, sales, delivery organizations internally and partners, and customers externally. This role requires IaaS product management experience and a solid understanding of virtualization, container ecosystems and infrastructure systems such as servers, network storage, data protection, network switches and related subsystems. This is a high impact role for an individual contributor that will set the direction for on-premise cloud products and reshape the IT industry as businesses transform from using IT infrastructure as traditional owned asset to infrastructure (IaaS) and platform as a service (PaaS).

He / She will also be responsible for defining the roadmap for Dell Technologies APEX On-Premise and Off-Premise Private Cloud, which are used by our customers to host workloads across a spectrum of customer owned data centers, edge sites and public clouds.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

• You are obsessed with customer success and use customer feedback as a key input for product decisions

• You have experience and understand concepts of aaS model to drive self-service provisioning and catalog capabilities on APEX cloud offers

• You have experience and understanding of operating systems, hypervisors and cloud stacks to drive those as image deployments using self-service constructs using cloud technologies such as Terraform, Ansible etc.

• You must have very strong technical skills and must understand enterprise IT, datacenter, edge computing systems and associated concepts

• You must have a sound understanding of compute virtualization (VMs), storage virtualization, scalable all-flash external storage and network virtualization concepts and working principles

• You have engineering experience and understand operating and technology aspects of compute, storage, networking, security from infrastructure and platform perspective

• You understand how IT virtualization resources (CPU, memory, storage, bandwidth, IOPS etc.) are consumed by customers and the metrics that are critical for workload operations

• You have experience in interacting with customers in the IT industry. Examples: Hyper-scalers, Enterprise IT, Co-Location companies, MSPs, SMB IT departments etc.

• You can deal with ambiguity; tight deadlines and you are comfortable with operating in a very fast paced environment

Key Responsibilities:

• Create product requirements for cloud products by synthesizing needs from customer feedback, market analysis, business case, technology projections and pricing analysis

• Work closely with engineering, user experience (UI/UX), product  marketing, technical marketing, sales, managed services, pricing, and support teams to accelerate the momentum of Dell Technologies Cloud for on-premise Private and Hybrid cloud offerings

• Create business cases to identify and recommend high growth market segments and areas for IaaS and PaaS offerings

• Lead requirements gathering and management and provide advanced interpretation and recommendations

• Actively maintain key relationships with customers, partners, and sales to gather feedback and identify ways to improve the offer definition. 

• Lead the process of establishing and communicating strategic plans and objectives

• Make key decisions on resourcing, capacity modeling and forecasts

• Lead the communication with all appropriate extended teams and ensures they are informed and in agreement with all activities needed for the product/program/project/solution to succeed.

• Drive the creation of offer value propositions and core content for specific target market segments and use cases.

• Oversee and drive products/ solutions through the phase release or solutions release process including business case and resource requirements.

• Stay informed and knowledgeable of current and future technology/engineering trends within area of Private and Hybrid cloud specifically IaaS and PaaS.

• Writing product and customer requirements

• Understanding of modern web technology software, REST CRUD APIs, front end presentation layer etc. to ensure that IaaS and PaaS resources can be well represented in the customer cloud consoles for interacting and managing the virtual cloud resources

Experience required:

• Typically requires 12+ years of experience with a Bachelor’s degree in Product Management or 8+ years and a Master’s degree or a PhD with 5+ years of experience or equivalent experience

• Experience in one or more of VMware cloud, Azure, Openshift, Pivotal, Tanzu, Kubernetes, KVM ecosystem

• Experience in defining/delivering cloud, datacenter, or software offers preferably for IaaS and PaaS offerings

• Experience in driving a consistent focus and excellence with a strong, determined, talented and opinionated team

• Expert understanding of business goals and objectives as they relate to customer use cases and solutions

• Negotiation skills; Ability to influence at all levels to achieve results

• Previous product management experience focused on developer productivity and cloud-native application development highly desired

• Excellent communication skills, business acumen and judgement

• Articulating and presenting product roadmap related topics in front of executives
