In September 2020, Unilever announced the intention to build a new sustainable campus site in Kingston, London to house the employees who currently work in 100 Victoria Embankment in Blackfriars, Lever House in Kingston, Unilever House in Leatherhead and Graze in Richmond. We are creating our own Unilever sustainable, agile work environment, purposefully bringing us together in our own Unilever ecosystem. The campus is due to be completed in December 2023 and will consist of two interconnected buildings, as well as landscaped surrounding areas

JOB PURPOSE

As the largest producer of Deodorants in Unilever’s global network, the Leeds SU is key to support Unilever’s challenging growth ambition. Our focus is on the Right First Time implementation of Innovation and perfect product delivery into both European & cross-regionally sourced markets, with product Quality being a key enabler of this growth.

The Leeds SU Hygiene and Product Quality Leader role will Identify and report consumer safety and quality hazards and identify control measures by performing risk assessments and audits. They will lead the schedule of regular inspections/audits against the Unilever UQP standards, this will include both internal and external auditing. They will also ensure compliance to the relevant Unilever identified quality standard design and monitor /report gaps and actions to close out.

The role of the Hygiene and Process leader is split into the following areas;

1.           Hygiene & HACCP

2.           Standards and compliance

3.           Product (Finished Goods) Quality

It is a role responsible for the drive of a culture change within the SU, to ensure that a Quality mindset and ethic is adopted end to end. The role encompasses WCM pillar deliverables by supporting the drive to zero loss.

Expected to take responsibility, be skilled, highly motivated and committed to delivering business objectives and the continual improvement of the plant and the people. Lead the program to develop HACCP, Hygiene, Standards Compliance and Product expertise in Leeds SU.

RESPONSIBILITIES :

• To manage the quality internal audit program against the Unilever identified UQP standards including audit schedule, compliance and action tracking
• To implement & maintain HACCP for aerosol and roll on manufacturing
• To ensure hygiene standards are achieved and maintained including cleaning & disinfection practices & validation
• To lead quality improvement projects within the SU identified through the loss tree
• To manage the current portfolio of products with respect to hygiene risk, mitigation and countermeasures
• To coach others on the required standards for UQP compliance and how to monitor them
• To coordinate hygiene improvement programs and related activities.
• Manage training activities related to hygiene at all levels.
• Work closely with R&D Formulation and Processing teams to ensure HACCP is conducted and CCP identified for new products and materials.
• To work with Process Engineers to design best-practice plant and equipment and close gaps
• To develop knowledge about product specification and machine interactions onsite and work with R&D to resolve identified issues leading to quality defects
• To work as a part of the Quality and Innovation team during incidents to ensure that the correct incident management process is followed

ALL ABOUT YOU:

• Understand the importance of Process Safety Systems (especially in aerosol manufacturing) and develop the appropriate skill (e.g. Process Safety Management training) to become fully operational
• Understand the importance of behavioral safety training and develop the appropriate skills to become fully operational in Safe Acts Visits
• Understand and enforce site safety policies & rules.
• Understand risk assessment in order to contribute to Business risk acceptance
• Understand environmental impacts and assessments and the importance of control measures.
• Understand and enforce site waste management procedures

They even conduct fake telephone interviews and then offer candidates a role with the proviso they pay a fee for background checks or to cover work visa costs.  These types of attacks are becoming more common as more people are looking for employment in the economic climate.
