Job Description

Senior HR Optimization Manager

At Amazon, we're working to be the most Customer-centric company on earth. One customer experience that we are constantly looking to take to a new level is how we fulfil and deliver orders. Our goal is to exceed the expectations of all our customers by ensuring that their orders, no matter how large or small are delivered where and when they need them, as quickly, accurately, and cost effectively as possible. To meet this goal, Amazon is continually striving to innovate and provide best in class service levels through the introduction of pioneering new products and services in the last mile delivery space. Come build the future with us!

The UK Amazon logistics (AMZL) HR Optimization team is seeking an experienced candidate as a Senior HR Optimization Manager to lead projects under the umbrella of ‘future of work’ that support how we think about associate flexibility to improve experience, people capability, retention and attraction. This involves building collaborative relationships within a matrix organization and taking ownership to set bold direction to support future network growth. This is a ‘hands on’ role requiring a proven understanding of operations, so will suit those with a genuine passion in organizational and operational design.
The successful candidate will be required to work cross-business line evolving best practice for AMZL, from project scoping to implementation, using analytical insight to spot gaps in policy requirements that facilitate effective organizational change. To do so, it will be necessary to foster strong relationships with HR and Operational teams as primary customers and partner with WW product owners and stakeholders in order to lead or partner on critical projects from concept to execution. We are looking for an individual with a background in HR, Operations, ER, Legal, Audit or similar with a proven track record of project management delivery, implementing change within short timeframes in ambiguous environments. The successful candidate will require strong analytical and excellent communication skills with an appreciation of ‘grass roots’ operations and delivery of associate facing initiatives. The role is based virtually; however, there may be a requirement to travel once COVID-19 restrictions permit.
You must be comfortable designing and building projects and processes from scratch as this role is a newly created role which is likely to evolve quickly. Successful candidates will have a strong ability to problem solve through data driven evidence, can prioritize well, communicate clearly, network effectively and show ownership through a consistent track record of delivery. This role is an exciting individual contributor role spanning a range of projects that sits under a newly formed optimisation program team in a fast paced growth environment. If this sounds like you, come and join us!

Key Responsibilities will include:
· Leading complex projects that require thought leadership, bold direction and clear plans communicated regularly
· Building a network cross-business line, attending meetings to represent AMZL and inputting to WW and EU updates
· Translating business goals into tangible action plans that improve AMZL ability to attract and retain talent
· Use data to lead people policy facing programs that ensure the associate is at the heart of our thinking
· Write updates and papers scoping new project initiatives, contribute to full communication cadence (WBR, MBRs) and edit project updates
· Strong project management and analytical skills; ability to lead projects at a network level to influence and obtain buy-in, drive execution and put in place mechanisms to monitor success.
· Natural ability to insist on the highest standards and continually show thought leadership in how to raise the bar in developing processes that improve day to day execution for customers
· Ability to take decisions and lead in a highly ambiguous environment
· Have a pulse on the external labour landscape to spot and recommend opportunities for continuous improvement
· Being an enthusiastic team player with a strong drive to create a positive work environment
· The ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously and deliver results
· Passion for people and HR – Operational partnership with the ability to interface at all levels of the organisation
· Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills

· Proven track record in running multi-function projects and programs across the full project lifecycle – from concept to implementation
· Excellent analytical and problem solving skills and the ability to make data based decisions
· People who are naturally customer obsessed and put the associate front of mind
