Human Resources lead the implementation of the Group’s people strategy in line with business objectives. We are currently seeking an experienced individual to join this team in the role of HR Consultant – Human Resources
 
As a HR Consultant you are in the driving seat, your thought leadership and creativity will enable HSBC to accelerate into the future. You will be accountable for managing the successful delivery of large scale HR programmes and initiatives that support the business strategy as set out in the strategic people priorities. No day will be the same, you will have a diverse portfolio to deliver with a variety of stakeholders across HR and the business with the ability to tap into HR specialists to deliver pragmatic solutions. Your critical thinking skills drive the quality of the solution so you will have the ability to turn data into powerful insights that help develop the project delivery plan. You get to do all of this whilst working with an amazing team, a supportive team with collective expertise across all HR which we use to coach each other and grow together as a result.
 
In this role, you will:

  • Demonstrate a consultant mind-set with the ability to support clients to diagnose complex issues and provide evidence based recommendations and solutions;
  • Manage programme delivery proactively balancing scope, schedule, interdependencies, risks and budget where applicable;
  • Effectively manage complex relationships with HR and Business stakeholders and to drive high engagement and commitment to UK People Priorities;
  • Understand the HSBC HR model with the capability to effectively deliver across the spectrum of HR activities;
  • Report progress, issues, dependencies and risks to the relevant governance forum and make recommendations to influence decision making in order to maintain progress towards delivery and benefits realization;
  • Be able to effectively communicate and demonstrate how HR programmes and initiatives connect the people priorities and the business goals.
 

Qualifications

 To be successful in this role you should meet the following requirements:

  • Must have experience in a complex matrixed and/or regulated organisation;
  • Must have experience in a project or continuous improvement role, either in HR or otherwise, focused on delivering strong customer outcomes;
  • Highly desirable to have experience in either people strategy/ organisational transformation (e.g. M&A/TUPE)/culture or EVP or customer experience and/or commercial or business awareness;
  • Demonstrable experience in leading or managing transformation/change and/or large scale programme management roles;
  • Project management capability with experience planning, executing, controlling and closing the work initiative to achieve specific goals over a specific timeframe;
  • Consulting Agility; to act as an advisor and provide direction, guidance and solve problems for clients;
  • Analytical rigor; applying appropriate and meticulous standards of assessment to better understand data and draw conclusions;
  • Strong influencing skills and ability to establish trust and credibility.
The base location for this role is Birmingham, but we work in a Hybrid way. We would need you to do a minimum of 1-2 days per week in the office rest of the working week from home. We connect face to face on a regular basis, travel will also be required to other HSBC sites dependent on project delivery.
