Position Summary

This position would work a modified schedule to support night shift operations with limited remote work.

Hours expected 10:30pm-7:30am Sunday night through Friday morning.

Standard Duties: 

  • Demonstrates mid- career level knowledge of principles, practices and procedures in areas such as recruitment, employee and/or labor relations, workers compensation, payroll, compensation and benefits, and managing business partnerships with cross-functional groups.  
  • Partner with Safety on incident investigation from initial claim to a resolution.
  • Strong focus on staffing and recruitment for area responsibility.
  • Strong focus on applying and operating within the BorgWarner Beliefs.
  • Facilitates a collaborative environment and implements appropriate change management initiatives.
  • Provides customer service to support the business through the consistent application of HR policies, recruitment strategies, performance management, data analysis, team progress and taking initiative on challenging assignments.
  • Being an enthusiastic team player with a strong drive to create a positive work environment.
  • Manage high volume workload and not be afraid to "roll up your sleeves".
  • Understand business goals and recommend new approaches, policies and procedures for continual improvement in business objectives, productivity and development.
  • Provide a true, hands-on approach and successfully monitor the "pulse" of the employees to ensure a high level of employee engagement.
  • 50/50 split between HR office and HR desk location on manufacturing floor.
  • Support multiple employee groups on the night shift.
  • Ability to partner with groups to reduce turnover, build employee relations and drive employee engagement.

Additional Information:

  • Travel is occasionally required, up to 5% of the time.

Safety and Physical Requirements:

  • All employees are responsible for knowing, understanding and complying with the safety policies and procedures.
  • Wear PPE when appropriate in designated campus areas.
  • Minimum work schedule of 45 hours per week

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree required
  • 3-5 years of HR Business Partner experience, employee relations, change management, and recruiting
  • SHRM-CP, PHR certification is encouraged
