Main Purpose:
To provide an efficient, effective and excellent cleaning service for the Dukes Theatre
Key Tasks:
Cleaning, washing, sweeping, mopping, dusting, polishing and vacuum cleaning of designated areas to the required standard. (see cleaning schedule)
Emptying litter bins, etc., and removing waste to designated areas.Â
Using cleaning materials and consumables as recommended by the supplier, following supplier’s recommended use instructions and adhering to COSHH regulations.
To store equipment and cleaning materials in a safe, clean and tidy condition as directed.
Communicate effectively to report any relevant issues with buildings, fixtures, equipment and services.
Clearing up after flooding and/or any other emergency cleaning.Â
Undertake any other duties which may reasonably be regarded as within the nature of the duties and responsibilities/grade of the post as defined, subject to the proviso that normally any changes of a permanent nature shall be incorporated into the job description in specific terms.Â
The Housekeeper is a key-holder of the building and has responsibility for deactivating the intruder alarm.

Previous experience of cleaning to a high standard
Interest in theatre, film and the arts in general.
To have attended a recognised first aid or health and safety course.
TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT
Pay - £8.91 per hour
Hours of work – 12 hours; 6.30am - 8.30am Sunday - Friday
Holidays – 20 weeks pro rata + statutory English holidays
Weekend working will be required
Notice period – 1 monthÂ
Probationary Period – Employment is subject to satisfactory completion of a 1 month probationary period. The notice period within the probationary period will be 1 week.
