This position will report to: David Rice

Position Requirements:  Perform duties to operate and monitor multiple operating stations including loading, deburring, de-magnetizing, wash/dry, part leveling, gauging and out pack.   Exercise judgment to power-up equipment, perform set-ups and changeover tooling, within the limitations of standard methods and procedures.

Work from process control plans, manuals, tables, and instructions:

• Power-up equipment at main panel view and multiple power stations.
• Start up, check and reset multiple operation stations by clearing faults and making adjustments as necessary.
• Inspect parts for ID, flatness, rust, stains and spots.
• Place inspected parts in oiler, label and pack for shipping.
• Change over tooling, rollers and catch spindles for part changes.  Change part number at main panel view                and at each process control station.
• Remove stuck parts, clear faults, remove and replace shims and adjust rollers as necessary.
• Use panel view screens to troubleshoot equipment.
• Monitor and adjust wash tank temperature.  Adjust valves as necessary.
• Maintain proper concentration of rust inhibitor in water.
• Adjust gap width at the gauge station as necessary.
• Adjust deburring heads as necessary.
• Make part number labels.

Use forklift, ID plug gauging, manual drop gauging, panel view screens, dial indicator, master stacks, conductivity meter and assorted hand tools.Familiarity with metric measurements is essential for this position.

Due to the labor grade of this position it does not fall into the shift preference/balancing. Dependent of business needs and requirements.

Degree Requirements:

High School diploma or GED, Associates Degree preferred.

                                     

Other Qualifications:

• Ability to attain a forklift license within 30 days.
• Ability to work overtime during shift overlaps and when other team leaders are absent.
• Computer skills to work with Microsoft programs.
• Solid mechanical skills and troubleshooting skills.
• Knowledgeable of SPC.
• Strong interpersonal skills relative to leading a team: conflict resolution, motivation, delegation, etc.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Experienced leading a team.

•     Employees with less than one year of service are only eligible to bid on higher paying labor grade positions.

•     Employees with more than one year of service will receive first consideration. 

•     Employees in a Disciplinary Step 1 are eligible to bid on any job.

•     Employees in Step 2 are eligible to bid on any job after 1 year.

•     Employees in Step 3 are eligible to bid on any job after 1 year.

•     If an employee accepted a new position, they cannot bid on the same or lower paying labor grade for 1 year.

•     If you were previously forced out of this job classification and are interested in returning to the position, you must complete a job bidding form.

•     This Position requires that you be able to Read and Write English.

•     Employees who have been interviewed within 6 months for the SAME exact position  may not be re-interview.

•     Employees wishing to apply for LG 5 or below positions will be considered if they -

a)  have record of previously completing and passing the prior employment testing requirements or

b)  have record of completing the Wonderlic® testing and received the required score to be eligible

c)  Employees with a Wonderlic® Score of 16 or higher and a Wiesen® score of 40 or higher for this position.
