Job Description
As a Healthcare Sales Manager, you would be responsible for managing Gordon Food Service’s business relationships with profitable regional and national multiâ€unit chain Healthcare customers. Additionally, you would provide developmental opportunities and monitors training activities for direct reports to ensure a high performing team.
Essential Functions:
- Manage the development of new and existing multi-unit businesses within assigned region, defines project scope and assumes ownership of all prime vendor presentations and participates in the region’s long range planning process.
- Collaborates with key decision-makers and executives of accounts to maintain and penetrate business relationships.
- Coordinates the demonstration or presentation of products and discusses applications, using samples or marketing material, emphasizing salable features based on price or value to benefit customer’s business operations.
- Reports monthly to leadership team regarding current customer activities and developments utilizing CRM Suite.
- Manages credit terms within established parameters created by the finance department and directs collection of accounts receivable to manage credit relationship with customers.
- Oversee development of business plans for territory and customers. Assist with new account development and visit key customers to build relationships and to assist with the resolution of serious customer concerns. Collaborate with operation teams to meet customer service profile expectations.
- Maintains visibility with key customers, segments or associations. Participates in food shows, regional customer events, customer segment shows and customer trips to headquarters. Plans and facilitates either alone or in conjunction with sales manager’s periodic meetings or activities for the region and/or division managed.
- Maintain knowledge of healthcare segment through industry magazines and local culinary organizations.
- Demonstrate and deliver understanding of Foodservice Industry and operations.
- Understand areas of customer focus, including Sales Building, Staffing, Profitability, and Compliance.
- Interviews, hire, train, and retain sales staff. Conducts performance monitoring of staff, initiating follow through with disciplinary action and termination in consultation with Human Resources when appropriate for the department. Mentors, motivates, and develops staff and acts as a role model and resource to them.
Requirements:
- 4-6 years of previous sales or business experience with experience in and an understanding of Healthcare segment needs.
- Three years of previous supervisory experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent - required, Bachelor’s degree in Business, Sales, or Marketing – preferred.
- Dietitian preferred
