JOB DESCRIPTION
- Working in partnership with the inhouse Frasers Group Health & Safety team
- Proving support, advice, training and guidance to warehouse management and employees about health and safety issues and fire risks
- Understanding a large and complex multi-use site, and working with the various teams to raise awareness, undertaking Fire inspections etc. and creating reports
- Supporting the Fire Risk Assessments process, providing recommendations, preparing and producing the reports with the necessary remedial actions to ensure full compliance with the RR (Fire Safety) Order 2005
- Training Fire Wardens and employees on fire prevention, fire safety procedures and the safe use of evacuation chairs
- Undertaking risk assessments and considering how risks could be reduced
- Monitoring contractors working on site for safe working practices, in line with Risk Assessments and Method Statements
- Liaising with Fire Authorities and Environmental Health, as and when required
- Carrying our accident/near miss investigations and provide written reports, witness statements and photographic evidence with a view to establishing causation and providing ways in which to prevent any recurrence
- Evaluating any hazards or risks and escalating as and when required
QUALIFICATIONS
- Passion for Fire Safety and Prevention, knows what is relevant and has the personality and skillset to train others
- Excellent administration and organisational skills including strong verbal and written English
- Ability to prioritise multiple tasks along with strong attention to detail
- Hold or working towards minimum qualification of the NEBOSH National General Certificate in Occupational Health & Safety, or NCRQ equivalent
- Proven experience of delivering training on Fire Prevention and Fire Procedures
- NEBOSH or equivalent Level 3 Fire Certificate
- Must be able to work using own initiative and as part of a successful team
- Flexible availability to suit the needs of the business including evenings and weekends to cover and understand shift and task variances
