Role Purpose 
The role is responsible for all the technology elements of B2B Transformation programmes that the B2B IT department will deliver in conjunction with the Business & Wholesale directorate (e.g. Next Generation B2B). While the specialised resources may sit in the expert teams in B2B IT, elsewhere in IT or in other technical directorates (e.g. CTO, CDO), this is a senior role that will have end to end accountability for the technology elements of the B2B transformation programmes.

Key Accountabilities and Deliverables
- Transformation Strategy – Work with the Director of Business Strategy, Marketing and Transformation and the B2B CIO to define the transformation strategy for B2B, in order for this area to achieve the planned growth and customer impact that sits behind the vision of Reimagining B2B in the UK.
- Transformation Planning – Plan such transformation programmes so that Virgin Media O2 maximises the impact of the investment. Ensure that funds, resources and other dependencies are understood and planned in synch with the planned programmes. Maintain alignment with the 3 Year Plan and inter-dependent programmes.
- Shaping of transformation programmes – Work with the Business Strategy, Marketing and Transformation leadership team to shape and mobilise the B2B transformation programmes, so that their scope, goals, structure and governance is clear and optimised for the programme.
- Programme mobilisation – Own the programme mobilisation across all the technology directorates (CIO, CTO, CDO, NetEx). Own the resolution of critical success points for the successful start of the programme (e.g. resourcing, governance). Decide the correct delivery mechanism (e.g. agile, waterfall) and resourcing (e.g. FTEs, partners) for the programme. Ensure that success criteria, goals and KPIs are defined at the conception of the programme.
- End to end Programme delivery – Overall delivery accountability to manage the technology elements of the transformation programmes, not just in B2B IT but across CIO and other technology directorates involved in the programme. Interface to B2B CIO, Director of Business Strategy, Marketing and Transformation, Business & Wholesale MD and CIO. Own the tracking, control, communication, budget, risk management and escalation of the technology elements to the programme.
- Virtual member Strategy, Marketing & Transformation team – This leadership role reports to the B2B CIO, but has a dotted line to the Director of Strategy, Marketing & Transformation, whose team this role will be a virtual member of, as a technology partner. Ensure full alignment between Business & Wholesale and CIO across all matters of the programme.
- Innovation and new transformations – Beyond the shaping, mobilisation and delivery of B2B-conceived programmes, investigate, propose and kick-off transformation programmes or transformative elements enabled from technology options (e.g. novel technology, repurposed technical capabilities) that may be exploited for the benefit of B2B customers.
- Group stakeholders – Establish and nurture relationships with the relevant teams in both shareholding organisations, to learn and apply from their respective experiences in other countries as well as to share where Virgin Media O2 is leading for the benefit of other sister operators in either group. 
The must haves:
- Experience in IT Transformation Programmes
- Broad knowledge of the IT industry & organisation including the capabilities & services provided
- Proven experience in people & team leadership as a large matrix organisation
- Experience operating at a senior level, interfacing board/director/SLT
- Expertise in budget planning, financial management and workforce management
- Data & analytical skills with ability to summarise into insight & key messages
- Strong stakeholder & relationship management skills
- Outcome focussed with ability to remain focussed on long term goals & success criteria
- Strong organisation and planning skills
- Ability to act independently with strong levels of assertiveness
- Ability to manage multiple demands and priorities
