Job Description
The core objective for the Head of Risk is to create better outcomes by ensuring the Capita Experience Division complies with all legal and regulatory requirements, and that Capita policies, standards and procedures, are embedded, followed, maintained and tested in order to manage our exposure to risk.
Key Accountabilities:
- Support the Capita Experience Strategy & Products, Business Development, International and Functions (Inc. Consult & Transform) to comply with all legal and regulatory requirements, Capita Group frameworks, policies and standards
- Implement Compliance governance guidance, training and tools to support appropriate levels of Compliance governance throughout the bid process.
- Define the risk assessment criteria for determining the level of Risk Management resources required for new and existing clients under renewal
- Accountable for the design, delivery, tools of the Compliance Governance bid methodology, risk assessment process, training across assigned business units/nodes and the wider Compliance Governance Team
- Lead Compliance Governance bid engagement for the Compliance Governance Team
- Design and Build bid Compliance Governance collateral
- Design the compliance governance resource model
- Attend and contribute to all relevant risk governance meetings and forums, providing input as required, and confirm that appropriate actions are agreed, implemented and tracked through to completion
- Accountable for working with the assigned business units and wider Compliance Governance Director to plan an appropriate level of due diligence and control testing to verify the compliance levels, challenge and oversee the implementation of any activities to rectify shortfalls
- Implement, advise on robust measurement that allows transparent visibility of adherence to legal, regulatory and policy requirements (standards) and steps (procedures) using MI, dashboards, control tests to identify gaps and opportunities from a 1LOD perspective.
What we’re looking for:
- Proven senior risk and control management experience, preferably within financial services
- Bid risk experience
- Expert knowledge and continuing professional development relating to the products, processes and regulation relating to the area of work
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Ability to identify the appropriate method of communication for the situation.
- Numeracy and computer literacy (e.g. Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook)
- Able to analyse data and provide innovative and commensurate solutions to problems/issues
- Ability to make confident decisions, demonstrating accountability
- Customer focused when dealing with a range of people
- Have meticulous attention to detail
- Highly organised and able to manage own workload and team members to meet stretching targets and strict deadlines
- Able to work effectively as part of a management team
- Ability to build and maintain effective relationships at all levels
- Able to identify and implement creative solutions to problems – “think outside the boxâ€. Be proactive in your approach
- Excellent time management
- Effective meeting preparation and delivery/chair skills
- Proven ability to engage, plan and drive activity to completion
- A relevant risk qualification would be desirable
- A good degree required or relevant, equivalent industry or function experience is desirable
