Core Responsibilities

As the Head of Products (Innovation Enabling) at the LEGO Group, you will be directly responsible for:

• Sparking growth in our consumer product portfolio by unlocking innovation talent through productivity software and software to enable new creative opportunities

• Creating and delivering the overall digital product strategy and vision for Innovation Enabling Products focused on our consumer portfolio, ensuring alignment with business objectives and revenue goals globally, as well as total cost of ownership

• Agreeing goals and objectives for Innovation Enablement with business and technology owners and users

• Managing a team of Product Managers to achieving the agreed outcomes

• Assessing current state of digital products - identifying ways to optimise the existing portfolio while leading product discovery sprints to find new innovative solutions to current problems and opportunities in line with business strategy.

• Creating the right culture and supporting and encouraging teams to be brave and curious by working in new ways and challenging the status quo.

• Champion the voice of the innovation teams throughout PMD; use existing user insight and establish new user research methods to deeply understand motivators, needs and problems.

• Working with the existing foresight and insight teams to understand the ‘future of play, interactive, products, consumer experiences, design, marketing, media, PR, comms and retail’ and to ensure our digital products are forward thinking and market leading.

• Instilling a test and learn approach across teams, so that teams are running experiments to test ideas and hypotheses and gather data that we can use to improve or create new end to end customer experiences across physical and digital touchpoints.

• Establishing outcomes and key results (OKRs) to ensure products achieve their objectives.

• Working in partnership with the engineering teams to deliver the product strategy and achieve OKRs.

• Building a high-performance product and design team that meets the business needs of the future and that fit with LEGO’s culture and values.

• Establishing and leading a ‘Community of Practise’ for all Product and Design people with the aim of defining the standards by which we will operate and supporting and growing our product talent across the business.

• Evangelise product methodologies to all partners bringing them on the digital transformation journey.

• Above all, deliver strong and compelling market-leading products that take advantage of LEGOs unique brand, product range and deep customer focus.

Play your part in our team succeeding

A key member of the digital transformation team, this role will be responsible for defining and delivering global product visions and strategies for digital products that support our PMD consumer portfolio.

Working closely with the chief digital and technology officer and team as well as the PMD leadership and teams, leading the ‘Product-Led’ programme, working across the business with team members to ensure that they are on board and finding the best ways set this up and involve them.

You will work closely with business leaders to create the right culture to enable our product teams to thrive – empowering them by giving them challenging problems to solve and working with business customers to create and agree on success measures (OKRs). Under your leadership, your teams will demonstrate the value that good product management brings – the most pressing problems for our users will be solved and business critical metrics will be met; the teams will surprise us with their innovative solutions earning them trust from their team members.

You’ll foster and develop a commitment culture and continue to create an environment which is diverse, inclusive and agile. You will set the standards and find ways to develop the team to reach those standards and encourage a growth mindset to continuously improve. You will set up and lead a Product and Design Community, encouraging people to participate and learn from each other and uniting product people across the LEGO Group. You’ll continue to find ways to develop the wider product community.

The results of your efforts will be clear – you will create fantastic user experiences across our organisation and with consumers that will delight our end-users and deliver against the strategic priorities for the business, all while ensuring that the investment required is appropriate for the return. You will lead, recruit and develop a world class team of Product Leaders and Managers, and UX Design specialists for one of our key business areas.

Do you have the determination?

• Bachelor’s and/or master’s degree, preferably in a technical subject (computer science or engineering team).

• Agile certification or experience

• 10+ years of experience building/ managing complex, globally dispersed product teams; ability to interact with diverse technical and non-technical groups spanning all organisational levels.

• Strong customer focus and ability to understand and translate the voice of the customer into product strategy.

• Experience in driving an IT-focused product organisation into a modern customer-centric product- focused organisation.

• Experience in context of Tech Enabled (Consumer) Product Design & Development and Marketing

• Experience evolving content authoring tools such as CAD, 3D design, 2D design

• Experience with innovative tools and development products for play, gaming, entertainment or similar fields

• C1 Level English

Nice to Have

• Global experience is strongly preferred

• Storytelling / evangelism

• Deep expertise and certifications in coaching and facilitation
