Summary

The Enterprise Portfolio Management Office (EPMO) sits with our Finance Portfolio and Performance Team which plays a leading role in delivering the strategy of the House of Commons Service. It supports the Joint Investment Board (JIB) and provides portfolio management and assurance for an exciting and complex range of projects and programmes across UK Parliament including the Portfolios of In-House Services & Estates (who maintain the iconic Palace of Westminster), Parliamentary Digital Service and the Strategic Portfolio. The EPMO is a bicameral team working across the House of Commons and House of Lords.

Job description

The Head of Portfolio Management will sit within the EPMO team, reporting into and working closely with the Head of EPMO to lead the strategic management and oversight of Parliament’s portfolio of programmes and projects, with specific responsibility for programme and project Governance and Assurance.

This is a fantastic opportunity to be apart of the EPMO Senior Leadership team. You’ll be able to develop, own and embed Parliament’s project and programme Portfolio Management framework, working with key stakeholders including the Joint Investment Board which is chaired by the Director General (Operations) of the House of Commons as well as the Finance Directors of both Houses.

Responsibilities

• Experience of portfolio design / prioritisation, including the agreement of investment criteria and weightings, and pipeline management.

• Experience of providing governance and integrated assurance advice, Risk Potential Assessments, Gateway Reviews, and services for a large and diverse portfolio of projects and programmes.

The following is desirable:

• One or more professional qualification, e.g., MoP, P3O, MSP, APM or PMI equivalent.
