You will be… 

  • Responsible for statutory financial reporting process in order to achieve accurate and timely external financial reporting
  • Responsible for ensuring that financial reporting complies with all reporting requirements
  • Manage the external reporting process, including the relationship with external auditors
  • Preparation of Audit Committee papers and ownership of group accounting policies
  • Managing the monthly close process for Financial accounting and control reporting under International Reporting Standards (IFRS's)
  • Providing independent review and challenge around Balance Sheet reporting for the Group on a periodic basis
  • Ownership of financial controls
  • Responsibility for the development and maintenance of accounting policies and governance of financial processes, ensuring standards and accounting policies are aligned across all legal entities
  • Work closely with the other Heads of within Group Finance to deliver the Group strategy and ensure continued engagement, talent planning and succession within the wider team
  • Liaison with the legal, company secretary, communications, tax, treasury, investor relations, consolidation and reporting and commercial finance teams as well as the auditors and external advisors. In addition, ensure legal requirements, quality standards and deadlines are met and that there is sign-off from external auditors
  • Make sure new accounting standards are adopted by the business on a timely manner
  • Ad hoc projects

  • Strong Excel and reporting skills
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to build relationships with people at all levels
  • Energy, drive, and resilience who can work in an agile, fast paced environment and answer quickly to business needs
  • Attention to detail, and ability to draw conclusions and make recommendations from complex business dynamics
  • Bias for process improvement and process discipline to deliver efficiency and improved performance
  • ACA/CIMA/ACCA Qualified – extensive experience post qualification
  • Ability to prioritise work for themselves and their team in a fast-paced environment
