As the Head of Global Quantitative Trading Analysis, you will be responsible for leading a core group of Equity Trading Quantitative Analysts based in Boston and London. Your efforts will drive the ongoing successful partnership with Traders and the trading management team to develop new opportunities for the team of quants to add value, evaluate and provide feedback on existing trading strategies and collaborate on innovative solutions and techniques. As a member of the Trading management team, you'll help drive strategy, innovation, and collaboration across the organization. Primarily, you will lead, mentor, and develop the technical skills and expertise of our Quant analysts. This is intended to be a hands-on role in which you will be a contributor as well as a leader who will need to help shape problem definitions, drive strategy, execute bodies of work, and develop partnerships across asset management to reinforce the value and capability of the function.
Primary Responsibilities
Lead and mentor the core team of equity trading quantitative analysts
Work in collaboration with Syndicate, Securities Lending, Portfolio Services, Systematic & Sector trading, FX & Alternatives trading teams
Ensure robustness of trading processes and alignment with investment decision objectives with the goal of preserving alpha and minimizing any hurdle to alpha
Actively participate in the development of presentation materials for Boards & Oversight committees • Effectively respond to requests from Institutional clients on matters pertaining to trading costs etc..
Act as the project-lead and manager for all trading research initiatives, working with systems technology and their peers, to drive initiatives to completion
Build, train and retain a diverse, inclusive and quantitative trading research team while providing opportunities for career progression
Education and Experience
Experience managing a team of talented individuals
10+ years of relevant work experience
Advanced degree in Finance, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, Physics, Computer Science, Engineering, or a closely related field is encouraged
Extensive background in global equity trading, market microstructure, investment decision life cycle, Trading cost analytics, trading decision support tools, algorithms & trading venues
The Skills You Bring
Ability to engage with traders, trading management & Portfolio Managers to innovate on their behalf; formulate and execute against a trading research agenda and collaborate with quantitative and technological partners
Deep understanding of implicit trading costs, pre & post trade impact costs and the mathematical models underneath them
Strong fundamental understanding of Equity asset class, global equity markets & market microstructure
Detailed understanding of all data elements and their many nuances pertaining to different aspects of the investment decision life cycle.
Expertise applying programming skills such as Python/Q/R on large time series data sets
Knowledge of and experience with Cloud, Visualization tools such as Tableau, working with on/off prem large-sized data sources
Collaborative, creative and team-oriented approach to leadership
