The head of Digital Design reports to the Head of Product within the product organization, working closely with product leadership across user and product groups, making sure that our design strategy and customer experience reflect the business strategy and needs of our users. This role sits on 2 product leadership teams “Consumer†and “Shopperâ€. Your core responsibilities are:
• Design strategy: Make well-balanced decisions and priority calls in line with strategic outcomes and consumer needs. Champion our users, drawing on insight to come up with creative solutions that tackle difficulties and unlock value. You'll take lead on the product design vision across our consumer touchpoints (everything on and under LEGO.com, digital touchpoints in stores, a wide range of apps) and collaborate to ensure it's aligned with the direction of travel from brand and product management.
• Product Discovery: Drive the discovery process for newly defined problems / business strategies, leading specialists and stakeholders through design sprints to uncover new opportunities moving swiftly to assumption mapping, experimentation, mvps and product market fit. Demonstrate the best practise “by doing†and provide direction where needed to existing product teams on the best way to run ongoing discovery.
• Product Strategy: Closely collaborate with product leadership to provide deep and well–evidenced insights into end-user needs, wants and motivators so that we can frame our problems statements and build our product strategies and OKRs.
• Leadership: Directly leading a small team of design specialists, and in addition, deliver results through indirectly leading, influencing and developing an inclusive, thriving community of product designers across different locations and user domains. Champion and role model outstanding design skills and improve for our great output.
Digital Consumer Engagement exists to ensure that The LEGO Group’s relationships with consumers are direct, long-lasting, two-way and meaningful.
We deliver products, channels and experiences to engage with new and existing users to power their love for the brand and for building. Some of the products in our digital ecosystem are the LEGO.com, LEGO Building Instructions app, LEGO Ideas, Family Club, LEGO Life and the LEGO Life Magazine.
• 5-7 years of relevant design leadership experience, preferably within a digital platform, entertainment or consumer social / engagement environment
• Experience leading projects and people, either directly and indirectly, and you invest in building strong and balanced relationships with other partners based on clearly defined priorities and accountabilities
• Evangelist: Create followership to demonstrate the power of the digital design community
• Experience in consumer digital products or services with strong consumer brands
• Able to prioritize well and engage with a change mentality – take people on the journey with you
• Have proven results through others in a matrix organization
