The Role

Fidelity is actively seeking an experienced Solutions Architect leader to work in the Fidelity Fund and Investment Operations Technology group. As the Head of Data Architecture in Fidelity Fund and Investment Operations Technology, you will provide the technical vision and leadership required to deliver complex and critical solutions for the business units within the overall data platform domains and lead a team of Data Architects and Data Modelers for the architecture team. Demonstrating the ability to range from data modelling, detailed technical architecture and data strategy to engaging with senior management and business teams will be critical to your success.

The Expertise You Have and The Skills You Bring

Experience with data modeler and data architecture patterns from transactional, operational and warehouse designs are required.

Experience in working with complex product and models for data acquisition, management and distribution will be an added advantage.

Hands on experience in cloud technologies and practices, building data applications that use services such as AWS EC2, S3, SNS/SQS, API Gateway, AWS Batch, Lambda, and Elasticsearch is desired.

Well-grounded knowledge of engineering and continuous delivery practices.

Proven leadership skills, demonstrated ability to mentor, influence, and partner with Application and Data Architects, Engineering and Product Teams to deliver scalable robust data solutions.

Significant experience working in complex data environments in an engineering, design and architecture capacity.

Proficiency at understanding enterprise architecture concepts, master data management, data modeling and design techniques.

Strong skills and demonstrated focus in logical and component architecture design and deployment.

Demonstrated success in composing and driving long term product strategies.

Proven knowledge and experience in Java, J2EE, RESTful web services, Apache Kafka and continuous query engines.

Strong experience in event based and message based orchestration architecture.

Passionate about technology and delivering solutions in integrated data environments.

Exposure to Python and R, along with Data Science and Machine Learning experience desired.

Detailed understanding of Data Exploration, Visual Analytics concepts and tools such as Tableau.

Strong solution architecture, engineering and design skills.

Passion and curiosity, work with others to foster ideas and produce creative solutions to difficult problems while making smart choices balancing design and delivery.

A strong influencer who can integrate effectively into the culture. Combine facilitation skills with a results orientation to deliver excellence and execution.

Organizational savvy and maturity, work effectively across different organizational units and business groups.

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to lead cross-team collaboration and partnerships across a variety of internal and external constituencies.

Successfully deliver key technology solutions supporting the Asset Management business.

Drive the solution architecture vision for Fidelity Fund and Investment Operations. Investigate, prove out and incorporate new technologies and capabilities as required.

Define patterns and standard methodologies for data usage, design, engineering and development.

Lead, mentor and provide design and architecture for delivery teams. Collaborate with product and engineering leads and senior management on product and delivery requirements, roadmaps and vision.

Undergraduate degree in computer science or a related field ideally combined with an advanced technical degree.
