Responsibilities
This position reports to the MCAPS Chief Data Officer, leading our team of digital transformation leaders with data analytics, AI, and ML expertise. You will build the team to deliver digital transformation solutions, establish data and AI insights that will enable successful customer engagements, and foster empathic evaluation of ethical considerations, aligning with our responsible AI principles.
You will:
- Build a world class, inclusive team of digital transformation leaders with data analytics, AI, and ML expertise, which reflects our growth mindset culture. You will guide each person in their journey of developing the skills and experiences to achieve their career aspirations.
- Develop and inform data and AI transformation initiatives with our customers and partners.
- Articulate and evolve our data and AI strategy, helping to enable our go-to-market story and adoption in the Microsoft ecosystem.
- Serve as a change agent, championing new customer- and industry-focused data and AI strategies within the organization and with partners and customers. You will speak at industry events and conferences to demonstrate our differentiated data and AI story.
- Guide teams solving complex problems and synthesizing across organizational boundaries. Provide strategic direction to help teams demonstrate thought leadership when contributing to overall business goals, objectives, and strategies, as well as short- and long-term business priorities. Ensure teams understand and identify current program risks, impact, and develop mitigation plans impacting the broader unit and/or Microsoft.
- Guide teams who identify and scope opportunities to develop new programs and improve current ones impacting the broader unit and/or Microsoft. Act as an industry subject matter expert to help teams identify and resolve root issues.
- Apply subject matter expertise when overseeing teams who define and track the success criteria and performance metrics (e.g., Objectives and Key Results [OKRs] and Key Performance Indicators [KPIs]), such as quality, adoption, usage, impact, and effectiveness for the program.
- Be customer and data driven, by tracking and analyzing customer and industry trends, you will help monitor progress towards our data and AI strategic priorities, influencing our business model and deal structures. This includes helping develop business cases including the strategic rationale, economics, and engineering implications.
- Be a connector and accelerate business, fostering a strong network of relationships across the industry with thought leaders, customers, partners, start-ups, leading industry analysts and investors, and competitors to evaluate the market landscape, identify growth opportunities and deliver on our strategy.
- Serve as the ‘business voice’ of our data and AI products & SMEs to the customers and partners executive leadership, connecting to Business CxOs in their 'language’ to communicate measurable time to value to customers – in other words ‘speak the business language’ of the customer.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
- Experience in leading data and AI, intelligence on the Edge, Digital Twin (Knowledge Graphs) programs and teams delivering business impacting solutions and successfully shipping AI-powered solutions from strategy into production.
- Proven ability to develop monetizable business capability leveraging highly differentiated, industry and cross-industry data and AI programs and talent.
- Proven industry expertise with C-suite and board level engagement in multiple industries. Ability to serve as a mentor or co-thinker for Chief Data, Analytics Officers, business operations and control functions such as compliance & risk.
- Experience with design of cloud incubation marketplace & insights as a service, pay-as-you-go models leveraging open-source standards and technology.
- Experience in developing relationships with government and regulatory agencies to serve as an influencer of global privacy, data sovereignty mandates and industry compliance challenges.
- Doctorate degree in engineering or related field with industry R&D and data products commercialization focus.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in envisioning and delivering strategic and multinational go-to-market plans with the expertise to accelerate and scale data and AI programs
- Experience in one or several of the following areas: business development, management consulting, strategy, or customer/ partner engagement, with an understanding of cultural diversities and communication styles within and across markets, specifically in AMER and EMEA
- Proven ability to lead multi-discipline teams working with customers, and partners in solving data and AI complex problems
- MBA preferred
