Job Description

What you’ll be doing:

  • Develop and oversee the delivery of the annual audit plan for Shared Services / Plc Functions.  

  • Attend relevant Risk Committees to present the progress and findings of internal audit work as well as provide broader insight and challenge where appropriate.

  • Develop strong relationships with Shared Services / Plc Functional Senior Management Teams.

  • Lead on development of the Annual Audit Plan by establishing the relevant criteria and process.

  • Own and continuously improve the GIA audit methodology and supporting templates, systems and toolkits.

  • Assess the performance of Internal Audit’s work by performing quality reviews of audits, identifying technical audit training to maintain the Internal Audit quality standards. Updating the Internal Audit methodology when required.

  • Develop and continually demonstrate lean ways of working, innovation and cross industry networks to meet leading industry practice.

  • Manage the department budget and develop data driven management information to deliver timely and accurate periodic reporting.

  • Acting as the Line Manager for members of the internal audit team which includes managing performance, supporting their development / training and career planning

  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships across Capita

  • Recognised professional audit qualification (ACA, ACCA or CIIA)

  • Credible and confident leadership, someone who can manage change effectively

  • Strong communication skills

  • A commitment to support the development of a strong and highly capable internal audit team.

  • The ability and willingness to instigate, lead and manage change effectively.

  • Credible and confident leadership that inspires and motivates others, behaving in a way that role models the Capita Values.
