JOB DESCRIPTION

Job Overview: 

The purpose of Security Guard position is to provide service support to the security department in Kabul NRC office, guest house, warehouse and vehicles parking buildings, the position holder will be reporting directly to HSS Officer of Kabul Office in order to run his duties smoothly with security standards of NRC.

Generic Responsibilities: 

1. Adhere to NRC policies, tools, handbooks and guidelines.
2. Prepare and develop status reports as required by management.
3. Promote and share ideas for improvement.
4. Perform according to the work and development plan.
5. Looks for the security of the office, guest house, warehouse and vehicles parking building and staff in the office.
6. Keeps all the windows and doors locked when the staff members leave the office.
7. Development of holistic and needs based programmes, including cash-based interventions and marked based programmes

Specific Responsibilities: 

1. Looks for the security of the office/guesthouse/warehouse and staff in the office.
2. Keeps all the windows and doors locked when the staff members leave the office.
   Keeps the office responsible informed of any incident in the neighborhood.
3. Does not allow unauthorized people park their vehicles in front of the offices.
4. Does not allow any body enters to the office without informing office or guest house responsible.
5. Does not allow any suspicious packages to the compounds unless authorized by Supervisor/Security Manager/Coordinator/Officer.
6. Checks everybody entering to the NRC premises.
7. Registers all the visitors coming to the office or Guest House and reports to responsible person and has to keep the generators maintained, (starts it on time and keeps fuel balance).
8. Checks the heaters in the morning and continuously keeps checking it.
9. Checks all security lights and reports if there is any loss during his working time.
10. Controls the water accessibility in the office (water pump, pipes).
11. Switches on and off all lights of the building on time.
12. Must clean the compound and guard room regularly and keep all the materials arranged.
13. Has to help cleaner in some parts of their work (heater cleaning, washing heavy/big items.
14. Has the full responsibility of the garden of the office.
15. Must obey and work according the time and schedule given by his supervisor.
16. Must respect the visitors and behaviour them gently.
17. Performs any other duty given to him by his supervisor
18. Ensure the inclusion of cash-based interventions and marked based programmes in country and area-based strategies and their implementation across and within NRC’s core competencies
19. Provide an enabling environment for the implementation of cash-based interventions, including multi-purpose cash assistance, emergency cash responses.

Generic Professional Competencies:

1. High School graduated.
2. 4 years of working experience as Security Guard with International/Humanitarian NGOs
3. Previous experience from working in complex and volatile contexts
4. Able to speak well on both local languages (Dari & Pashto) English is plus point.
5. Knowledge of cash-based interventions and market based programmes
6. Knowledge of Kabul central region’s context
7. Security awareness
